MUSIC

“Harmony for Haiti,” a benefit concert in support of the Haitian disaster relief effort, will take place at 7:30 p.m. today at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. The concert will feature graduate students from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas music department performing spirituals as soloists and as an ensemble. Proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross (454-8484).

All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 4201 W. Washington Ave., will present a recital by German concert organist Hans Hielscher at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14. The program is free (878-2373).

EVENTS

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will host a community forum with Charles Fitzgerald of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to discuss “Long-term Care is a Family Affair” at 10 a.m. Thursday. Attendees may bring a sack lunch. Coffee and cookies will be provided (732-2052).

Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway, will have a Mardi Gras event featuring food, bingo and prizes following the 10:30 a.m. service Feb. 14. Lunch will be available at noon, and bingo will begin at 1 p.m. (735-7655).

SERVICES

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Las Vegas, 3616 E. Lake Mead Blvd., will explore theology and science as part of “Evolution Weekend” at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 14 with the Rev. Linda Bunyard (437-2404).

MEETINGS

The Sathya Sai Baba Devotional Singing Group meets at 5 p.m. Sundays at 1128 Triumph Court (461-8655).

The Secular Franciscans of St. Margaret of Cortona fraternity meets at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

Community Baptist Church, 245 E. Foster Ave., Henderson, offers a free reading program for all ages 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays (565-0071).

The Las Vegas Diamond Way Buddhist Group offers guided meditation and dharma talks at 7:45 p.m. Thursdays (260-4426).

Govinda’s Center of Vedic India, 6380 S. Eastern Ave., offers Mantra Meditation, a presentation of Indian Vedic Wisdom, vegetarian snacks and literature at 6 p.m. Sundays (434-8332).

SINGLES GROUPS

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada, Temple Sinai and Congregation Ner Tamid offer a variety of programs for Jewish singles of all ages in Las Vegas and Henderson. For details, call the Jewish Community Center at 794-0090, Temple Sinai at 254-5110 or Congregation Ner Tamid at 733-6292.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church sponsors singles groups for professionals 25 to 45 years old and a singles group for people 45 and older (228-8311, Ext. 7333 or 7334).

New Life Christian Center has a singles meeting at 7 p.m. the second Friday of the month at 1229 E. Carson Ave. (387-5433).

Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).
