MUSIC

The chamber music ensemble Musica Lumina will perform at 7:30 p.m. today at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. The concert is free, but a freewill donation will be accepted (454-8484).

The Philippine Madrigal Singers choir will perform at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way. Tickets are $20. Proceeds will benefit the Midnight Mass TV Ministry and Cathedral Choir Ministry (735-5241, ext. 5241).

The Las Vegas Camerata, featuring violinist DeAnn Letourneau, cellist Andrew Smith and pianist Sandra Rivers, will perform at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd. The concert is free, but a freewill donation will be accepted (341-7800).

Trinity United Methodist Church, 6151 W. Charleston Blvd., will present "Hope is Here!" featuring Big Fish Story Ministries with the Rev. Michael Chamness, the Rev. Brian Riecke and their band at 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Sunday (870-4747).

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will have its annual Gingerbread Fair & Pantry featuring holiday trimmings, embroidered linens, floral arrangements, handcrafted gifts, fall decor, baked goods and other items, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. today (454-8484).

First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., will have a Swap Meet & Craft Show featuring handmade crafts, purses, crochet pieces, jewelry, food and gently used swap meet items, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. today (384-4554).

The Church at South Las Vegas, 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson, will host a fall conference featuring Christian speakers at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Speakers include the Rev. Benny Perez, pastor of the Church at South Las Vegas; Jentezen Franklin of Free Chapel Church in Gainesville, Ga.; motivational speaker and author Tim Storey; and Samuel Chand, a consultant and mentor to pastors (361-1579).

Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, will present the film "The Third Jihad" at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, chairman of the board of directors of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy and the narrator of the documentary, will speak at the temple at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18 (804-1333).

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will host a community forum on "Asian-American Cultural Differences" with the Rev. Peter Lai at 10 a.m. Thursday. A potluck will follow (732-2052).

St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 S. El Camino Road, celebrates its 50th anniversary beginning with historical lectures and a tour of a pictorial display of the church at 6 p.m. Friday. The fee is $30. On Oct. 17, Great Vespers and Artoclasia will be at 5 p.m. followed by a Greek Village dinner dance at 6:30 p.m. The fee is $50. On Oct. 18, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. followed by a champagne brunch. General admission is $20; $10 for children younger than 12. Wellspring Church of All Nations, 4870 Janell Drive, will have an equipping summit on "Faith That Moves Mountains" 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 17. Lunch will be provided (631-5027).

"Chosen Garment — The Whole Bible In One Act," a dramatic presentation by Steven Mosely, will be presented at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at Holy Spirit Church, 6670 W. Cheyenne Ave. A chili dinner will precede the presentation at 5 p.m. Tickets are $8 and are available during church office hours and after worship services (645-1777).

CLASSES

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., offers English as a Second Language classes at 9 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (202-6579 or 732-2052).

The Las Vegas Diamond Way Buddhist Group offers guided meditation and dharma talks at 7:45 p.m. Thursdays (260-4426).

Community Baptist Church, 245 E. Foster Ave., Henderson, offers a free reading program for all ages 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays (565-0071).

SINGLES GROUPS

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada, Temple Sinai and Congregation Ner Tamid offer a variety of programs for Jewish singles of all ages in Las Vegas and Henderson. For details, call the Jewish Community Center at 794-0090, Temple Sinai at 254-5110 or Congregation Ner Tamid at 733-6292.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church sponsors singles groups for professionals 25 to 45 years old and a singles group for people 45 and older (228-8311, Ext. 7333 or 7334).

Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).
