1 killed in southwest Las Vegas Valley crash

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Friday in southwest Las Vegas.

Hak Jin Kim, 72, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead by the Clark County coroner’s office Friday morning.

Police found the man, who was initially identified as a 77-year-old, at 9:14 a.m. near Brett Thurman Way north of the intersection with West Hacienda Avenue. They said he was struck sometime between 6:50 a.m. and the time he was found.

Kim died at the scene, authorities said.

Police said they suspect Kim was hit in a hit-and-run crash, but no one had been arrested or identified in connection with the crash as of Monday morning.
