2 hospitalized in crash in western Las Vegas
A crash Wednesday evening near Summerlin left a 28-year-old and 23-year-old man seriously injured, Las Vegas police said.
Officers were called to North Rampart and Del Webb boulevards at 6:12 p.m. for the crash, which involved two cars, according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Damon Young. Police said the crash happened when the 23-year-old, driving a 2012 BMW M5 on southbound Rampart, collided with a 2012 Mini Cooper that was turning left from northbound Rampart.
The BMW’s driver, along with the 28-year-old Mini Cooper driver, were both taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.
The 2020 Kia Sportage and a parked 2017 Hyundai Accent were both struck by “flying debris” from the collision, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Neither of the men hospitalized showed signs of impairment, police said.
The intersection was closed Wednesday night because of debris in the road.
