Country singer will perform at Legion post
American Legion Post No. 8 is inviting all veterans of the U.S. armed forces to attend a special day of thanks Tuesday evening.
Entertainer Sheila Del Monte will perform impersonations and sing her selection of country music hits at the event, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Cocktails and refreshments will be served beginning at 5 p.m. at Post No. 8, which is located at 733 Veterans Memorial Drive in Las Vegas.
Officers from the post will be available to answer questions about veterans benefits, said Special Forces veteran Tom Reyes, who served in the Army from 1962 to 1968.
He said the veterans appreciation day is sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion.
