Several organizations are holding drive-thru food pantry events, or serving holiday meals for needy Nevadans during the holiday season.

Ten chefs from Las Vegas restaurants are donating dishes to The LGBTQIA+ Center of Southern Nevada, for pick up on Thursday.

Among them, James Trees of Esther’s Kitchen will contribute herb-roasted Diestel turkey, Esther’s sourdough stuffing, sage and rosemary giblet gravy. Gina Marinelli of La Strega is donating herbed mashed potatoes with grana padano & Sicilian olive oil. And Marc Marrone of Graffiti Bao is contributing tri-color maple candied yams.

Other chefs include Scott Pajak of Triple B, Girair Goumroian of Meraki Greek Grill Las Vegas, Justin Kingsley Hall of Main St Provisions, Jordan Camacho and Trevor Garrett of To Be Frank, Antonio Nunez of Blume and The Stove, John Church of Johnny C’s and Brian Howard and Andrea Mclean from Sparrow + Wolf and Pop’N’Pies.

The Center (401 S. Maryland Pkwy) aims to feed a little over 100 people at 1 p.m. through 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving day.

All meals will be prepped with COVID safety in mind and packaged to-go.

Sundays

Nevada SPCA is partnering with online retailer PetFlow to provide drive-thru pet food assistance in the Las Vegas Valley.

Food will be distributed every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nevada SPCA shelter at 4800 W. Dewey Dr. Pet food recipients can stay in their vehicles and follow the signs to the northwest corner of the shelter to receive their weekly supply of food. The drive will continue on Sundays as long as there is a need, said SPCA spokesperson Amy Lee.

“We’re listening to the needs of our community here in Southern Nevada and working to find solutions for many families struggling during this economic hardship. We want to keep pets in their homes, and if providing food for them can help do that, we are ready to roll up our sleeves and make it happen,” says Nevada SPCA Executive Director Lori Heeren in a release. “With PetFlow based in Las Vegas, they immediately jumped in without any hesitation to help our pet community.”

During this events, hundreds of families in need will be provided much-needed resources and experience a Christmas experience as part of the drive-through event.
