A southwest valley elementary school was briefly evacuated while fire crews investigated the smell of smoke, officials say.
Reports of a fire at the charter school, Doral Academy, 9625 Saddle Ave., near the intersection of Fort Apache and Flamingo roads, came in at 9:50 Tuesday morning, according to Clark County Fire Department Chief Jeff Buchanan.
Responders did not find a fire, but did smell smoke, Buchanan said. The smell came from a light.
The school was evacuated as a precaution, but the children were able to return to class.
