North Las Vegas home damaged in electrical fire

An electrical malfunction started a blaze at a northeast valley home Thursday afternoon that caused $229,500 worth of damage, the North Las Vegas Fire Department said.

Fire officials said they were alerted to the fire at 3631 Belmont St., near Gowan Road, east of Interstate 15, at 12:18 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find flames coming out of the vacant home’s roof. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes with help from the Clark County Fire Department.
