Officials ID motorcyclist dead in Henderson crash
Officials have identified a 20-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash in Henderson that injured a bystander and knocked out traffic lights.
Clark County coroner’s officials say Mitchell Plamp of Las Vegas died in the crash about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at Eastern Avenue and Wigwam Parkway.
Authorities say a 19-year-old woman in a Buick Regal attempted to turn left but hit Plamp, who slid across the intersection with the bike until hitting a 27-year-old man and a light pole.
Plamp died at the scene, while the pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Buick was not injured. A Las Vegas police officer reported seeing Plamp’s motorcycle speeding before the crash.
Police say this is the 12th death this year from a Henderson traffic accident.
