Pedestrian dies after hit by vehicle in northwest Las Vegas

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday morning in the northwest Las Vegas Valley, according to authorities.

According to police, the incident occurred at about 5:32 a.m. on North Durango Drive near Corbett Street.

Authorities say that evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that a 2018 Honda Accord traveled northbound on North Durango Drive, approaching Corbett Street.

A pedestrian was in the roadway near the intersection outside a marked crosswalk, according to authorities.

The crash occurred when the pedestrian entered the path of the approaching Honda.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police noted that the driver of the Honda remained at the scene and was not impaired.

The pedestrian’s death marks the 21st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas police’s jurisdiction for 2025.
