Thanksgiving in April event to serve about 1,800 meals
Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada will celebrate Thanksgiving in April on April 26 for clients and to acknowledge the generosity of supporters.
"Our Thanksgiving In April event is a time for us to give thanks to our community for affording us the ability to serve those in need for more than 71 years," said Monsignor Patrick Leary, chief executive officer of the organization.
Catholic Charities is one of the largest nonprofit social service providers in the state. It has 24 programs designed to help people of all ages regardless of race, religion or creed.
More than 120 volunteers are expected to serve about 1,800 sit-down meals.
Thanksgiving in April: Feast of Hope, which is in its eighth year, will be held 10 a.m. to noon at the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility, 1502 N. Main St.
