No sign of missing rafter in Grand Canyon

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. — Authorities are scaling back their search for a Phoenix man who fell into the Colorado River while on a rafting trip in Grand Canyon National Park.

Park Service officials said Wednesday there is no sign of 68-year-old Victor Tseng, who was last seen on June 27 below Havasu Rapids.

Officials say they received a call from a commercial river trip operator that afternoon that one passenger was missing.

Tseng reportedly fell from a ledge into the river and wasn’t wearing a life jacket.

Park Service authorities say search and rescue teams have combed the area by air and boat for days and turned up no clues about Tseng’s whereabouts.

Flyers with Tseng’s picture and description remain posted at river trip launch areas and takeout points.
