No details were provided about how animal control officers or police learned about the animal, but a social media post indicated that a resident of the area where the wildcat was captured had reported it missing. Alexander Cuevas, a spokesman for the city, said Wednesday that the owner has reached out to the animal protective service but it was unclear what would become of the serval cat.
He noted that under North Las Vegas municipal codes, “No person may exhibit in public or keep on public or private property any wild animal.”
