Motorcyclist killed in 2-vehicle crash in North Las Vegas

A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after a crash involving her motorcycle and another vehicle in North Las Vegas.

Officers responded around 2 p.m. to the crash at East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Pecos Road, according to North Las Vegas police spokesman Alexander Cuevas.

A 2000 Mercury Sable was traveling northbound on Pecos and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Lake Mead. A black Honda Shadow was southbound on Pecos when the crash occurred in the intersection.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where she died.

The intersection remains closed for the investigation. The driver of the Mercury stayed on the scene and was cooperating with police.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

The identity of the woman will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office pending notification of kin.
