Storm drops hail on Las Vegas Valley

A springtime storm dropped hail Monday on some parts of the Las Vegas Valley.

The National Weather Service received reports of small hail in Anthem and further east in Henderson earlier, meteorologist Nathan Foster said.

Showers dwindled as the day drew on.

The system is expected to move out of the valley to the east on Tuesday, Foster said. The high should be in the mid 80s.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s and nighttime lows in the mid 60s before more stormy weather arrives Thursday.

A stronger, cooler system is forecast to move in with high temperatures peaking in the upper 70s and breezes gusting over 20 mph in the evening. That will be the only significant wind this week, Foster said.

Friday is expected to have highs in the mid 70s and a chance for showers in the afternoon, Foster said.

Remnants of the storm will stick around for a partly cloudy Saturday, and high temperatures will reach the upper 70s. Lows Saturday night should be about 56 degrees.

The valley will warm up quickly for a mostly sunny Sunday with high temps climbing back up to the mid 80s, Foster said.
