ROUNDUP: Arbor View’s girls take top 10 spots in easy win
Arbor View’s girls took the top 10 spots on Wednesday to roll to victory in a four-team meet at Cimarron-Memorial.
Andrea Gonzalez won the 2.7-mile race in 17 minutes, 34 seconds for Arbor View, which finished with 15 points. Cimarron (54) was second and Mojave (73) third.
Arbor View’s Amberly Halstead (17:38) and Tiffany Carmona (17:40) finished right behind Gonzalez.
Shadow Ridge posts perfect score
At Deer Springs Park, Shadow Ridge took nine of the top 10 spots to finish with a perfect score of 15.
Legacy (63) was second followed by Cheyenne (72) and Virgin Valley (87).
Mallory Reese won the 2.75-mile race in 17:56, followed by teammates Elaina Vlassopoulos (18:11) and Leanna Morrison (18:53).
Moapa Valley tops Rancho and Desert Pines
At Rancho, Moapa Valley took four of the top 10 places to finish first with 34 points.
Rancho was second with 39, and Desert Pines had 44.
Desert Pines’ Marisa Denton won the 2.75-mile race in 21:51, followed by Rancho’s Lorette Yared (23:08) and Moapa Valley’s Jessany Mortensen (26:10).
BOYS
Mahar, Shadow Ridge roll
At Deer Springs Park, Shadow Ridge’s Sam Mahar won on the 2.75-mile course in 15:08 to lead the Mustangs to the team victory with 15 points.
Legacy (56) was second, followed by Virgin Valley (87) and Cheyenne (88).
Shadow Ridge’s Jon Clark (15:13) was second and Ian Cattanach (15:24) third. The Mustangs had seven runners break 16 minutes.
Arbor View dominates Cimarron
At Cimarron-Memorial, Arbor View took nine of the top 10 spots to down the Spartans 18-45.
Arbor View’s Greg Marschik won the 2.7-mile race in 14:05. The Aggies’ Blaise Hill was second in 14:47, and Cimarron’s Samuel Mayo finished third in 14:57.
