ROUNDUP: Diamondbacks claim top 11 spots to top Legacy girls

Brooke Locey won a 2.4-mile race in 15 minutes, 36 seconds on Wednesday to lead Desert Oasis’ girls cross country team to a 15-50 victory over visiting Legacy.

The Diamondbacks claimed the top 11 spots.

Summer Leimberger was second in 18:37, and Alexandra Myers took third in 18:59.

Ortega-Dominguez leads Wildcats to win
At Las Vegas, Sharon Ortega-Dominguez won a 2.72-mile race in 19:18 to help the Wildcats past Canyon Springs, which didn’t field a full team.

For Canyon Springs, Minniya Wilson was second in 20:39, and Brooklyn Allison took third in 21:09.

Raymond, Wolves beat Del Sol
At Del Sol, Jessica Raymond won a 2.5-mile race in 17:58.1 to lead Basic to a win over the Dragons, who didn’t field a full team.

Basic’s Alexandra Acosta was second in 18:35.8, and teammate Megan McCarthy took third in 19:02.2.

Betemariam, Vikings top Skyhawks
At Silverado, Jerry Betemariam won a 2.37-mile race in 17:13 to guide Valley to a 23-34 win over the Skyhawks.

Valley’s Kerri Paasche took second in 18:13, and teammate Brooke Timothy was third in 18:48.

Shadow Ridge blasts Durango
At Shadow Ridge, Durango’s Virginia Salazar won the 3.1-mile race, but the Mustangs took the next 13 spots en route to a 20-43 victory.

Salazar won in 21:32, followed by Shadow Ridge’s Ciara Jackson (21:49) and Jessica Graf (22:26).

Bengals edge Spartans

At Cimarron-Memorial, Bonanza had two of the top three individuals on the way to a 26-30 win over the Spartans.

Pinto points Basic to victory
At Del Sol, Noah Pinto won a 2.5-mile race in 14:53.6 to help Basic’s boys to an 18-40 victory over the Dragons.
The Wolves’ Will Gibbs was second in 15:45.9, and teammate Timothy Fox took third in 15:46.3 as Basic claimed the top four spots.

Ortega-Torres, Wildcats top Pioneers
At Las Vegas, Hector Ortega-Torres won a 2.72-mile race in 16:31 to lead the Wildcats to a 22-42 victory over Canyon Springs.

Las Vegas’ Miguel Ramirez was second in 16:32. Canyon Springs’ Ryan Samano took third in 16:47.

Martinez, Diamondbacks cruise to win
At Desert Oasis, Frankie Martinez won a 2.4-mile race in 14:18 to help the Diamondbacks to a 20-45 win over Legacy.

Desert Oasis’ T.J. Ness was second in 14:47, and teammate Sam Jimenez took third in 14:58.

Aman, Skyhawks dominate
At Silverado, Jonathan Aman won a 2.37-mile race in 13:30 to lead the Skyhawks over Valley, which had only one runner finish the race.

Silverado’s Tyler Barnard took second in 13:35, and teammate Asimwe Oben-Nyarko was third in 14:40.

Oberdin, Mustangs top Durango

At Shadow Ridge, Nick Oberdin captured the 3.1-mile rice in 17:57 to help the Mustangs to a 20-41 win over Durango.

Shadow Ridge’s David Peters was second in 18:01, and Durango’s Sami Mesgun finished third in 18:12.

Cimarron tops Bonanza
At Cimarron-Memorial, the Spartans took five of the top seven spots en route to a 23-32 win over Bonanza.

Bonanza’s Robert Rudd won the 2.5-mile race in 13:54. Cimarron’s Seth Wright (13:55) was second, and teammate Nicolas Gonzalez (14:28) was third.
