Roundup: Isabella Davis runs away from pack to win at Tech
Valley’s Isabella Davis finished Tuesday’s 3.1-mile race in 24 minutes, 1 second to place first at the girls cross country meet at Tech.
Teammate Lorraine Corado came in second with a time of 24:47, and despite having the top two finishers, the Vikings finished second as a team.
Tech, led by third-place finisher Diamond Morris (24:56), won the meet with 29 points. Valley was second at 32, and Laughlin was third with 60.
Fellow Roadrunners Eden Tesfay (25:22) and Eri Leong (25:28) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Palo Verde dominates
At Floyd Lamb Park, Palo Verde finished with the top four placers to win a five-team meet.
Grace Edwards won the 3.1-mile race with a time of 20:38.16, followed by Lainey Harlow (21:48.97) and Amber Garrett (21:56.19).
Palo Verde finished with 17 points, followed by Faith Lutheran (53) and Centennial (86).
Spring Valley wins home meet
At Spring Valley, Hermon Mebrahtu won the 3.1-mile race in 24:38.45 to help the Grizzlies score 19 points and win at home.
Western’s Ayleen Coronado was second with a time of 25:52.30.
Cheyenne’s 67 points were good for second place.
Sariah Brown wins at Sonata Park
At Sonata Park, Sierra Vista’s Sarriah Brown won the 2.86-mile race with a time of 18:47.
Coronado’s Claire Rawlins came in second with a time of 18:58 to help the Cougars score 18 team points and win the meet.
Boulder City was second with 59 points, and Desert Oasis was third with 65.
