FLAG FOOTBALL: Aggies score 24 unanswered points, hand Centennial first loss
Taylor Howie threw a touchdown pass and ran for two more scores Thursday as host Arbor View’s flag football team scored 24 unanswered points to defeat previously unbeaten Centennial 24-6 in a Division I Northwest League game.
Howie finished with 89 passing yards and 60 rushing yards for the Aggies, who outscored Centennial 18-0 in the second half.
Stacie Flores caught a TD pass, and Terren Vinson returned an interception for a score for Arbor View (9-5, 2-1).
Centennial fell to 14-1, and 1-1 in the league.
Foothill 39, Rancho 6 — At Rancho, Jadyn McArthur completed 29 of 39 passes for 293 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Falcons by the Rams.
McArthur also ran for 43 yards on six carries.
Emily Russell, Emily Mull and Sydney Babakitis each had two receiving TDs for Foothill, which led 26-6 at halftime. Russell led the Falcons with 11 catches for 95 yards.
Mily Rodriguez had eight tackles for Foothill.
Cimarron-Memorial 36, Bonanza 19 — At Cimarron-Memorial, Rosie Del Rosario threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 99 yards and a score to lead the Spartans past the Bengals.
DeShan Cambritt also rushed for two TDs, and Alyssa Karpinski caught two touchdown passes for the Spartans, who led 28-6 at halftime.
Del Rosario finished with five tackles, and Diona Whitley had four tackles and a sack for Cimarron.
Silverado 12, Canyon Springs 6 — At Silverado, Kui’Puha Untalan had a second-half rushing touchdown, and the Skyhawks held off the Pioneers.
Margie Farnsworth had an interception minutes before in Canyon Springs territory to set up the go-ahead touchdown. Sophia Mauro ran for a score in the first half for Silverado.
Coronado 28, Green Valley 13 — At Green Valley, the Cougars defeated the Gators.
Green Valley’s Bella Cipili threw for 79 yards, including 8-yard scoring passes to Alyson Thorne and Alyssa Herrera. Alyssa Hildreth supplied nine tackle and a sack for the Gators.
Basic 20, Eldorado 14 — At Eldorado, the Wolves topped the Sundevils.
