FLAG FOOTBALL: Desert Shields lock up Sunset League title

Liliana Cadacio completed 14 of 16 passes for 136 yards and four touchdowns Thursday as Cheyenne’s flag football team secured the Division I-A Sunset League title with a 38-15 win over visiting Sierra Vista.

Girley Tambeagbor caught five passes for 43 yards and three touchdowns, and Emoni Albert added four catches for 48 yards and a TD for Cheyenne.

Angela Hammond and Brianna Torres also had rushing TDs for the Desert Shields.

Boulder City 39, Del Sol 0 — At Boulder City, Jeanne Carmell ran for two touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass to Tarah Cox as the Eagles completed a perfect regular season with a win over the Dragons.

Carmell finished 22-for-30 for 293 yards and ran for 82 yards on nine carries for Boulder City (18-0).

Emma Jeppsen, Evelin Robinson and Rachel Whitman each added a touchdown run for the Eagles.

Virgin Valley 13, Chaparral 6 — At Chaparral, the Bulldogs defeated the Cowboys.

Neshaune’ Franklin rushed for 202 yards and a touchdown and added 46 yards passing for Chaparral, which finished in a four-way tie for fourth place in the Division I-A Sunrise League.

Annaliese Anderson led the Cowboys with 14 tackles.

Desert Pines 34, Sunrise Mountain 20 — At Desert Pines, Tanaiya Hinton ran for a touchdown and added two TD receptions to lead the Jaguars past the Miners.

Hinton ran for 152 yards on seven carries and caught three passes for 114 yards for Desert Pines, which led 27-20 at halftime.

Tyler Green caught four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown, and Reina Trujillo ran for 102 yards on seven carries for the Jaguars.

Tech 27, Moapa Valley 12 — At Tech, Katy Orellana threw two touchdowns and ran for two more scores as the Roadrunners topped the Pirates.

Avery Rayos and Rebecca Rivera-Pelayo each caught a TD for Tech, which led 14-6 at halftime.

Spring Valley 25, Clark 6 — At Spring Valley, Michaela Hood threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns as the Grizzlies downed the Chargers.

Jozee DeCunzo caught four passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns for Spring Valley, which also got TD receptions from Sala Mamaia and Shawna Kesmagol.

Legacy 33, Palo Verde 6 — At Legacy, Akia Williams accounted for 164 total yards and three touchdowns as the Longhorns downed the Panthers.

Williams rushed for 113 yards and scored on runs of 31 and 9 yards. She added five catches for 51 yards and caught a 29-yard touchdown from quarterback Nicole White.

Traonna Hamblet had 125 yards on 14 carries, including a 4-yard TD for Legacy, while White finished with 88 yards passing to go along with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Brenden Miller led the Longhorns’ defense with five tackles, and Braelin Brockway had four tackles and an interception.

Mojave 30, Western 0 — At Western, Leilani Limtiaco threw a touchdown and ran for another score as the Rattlers blanked the Warriors.

Victoria Garcia and Ayanna McClean each had a rushing TD, and Michelle Hernandez caught a TD pass for Mojave, which led 14-0 at halftime.

Shadow Ridge 31, Durango 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Victoria Tolle completed all nine of her passes for 164 yards and four touchdowns to guide the Mustangs to a shutout of the Trailblazers.

Sophia Triana caught three passes for 50 yards and two TDs, and Danika Shupe had seven carries for 53 yards and a TD for Shadow Ridge, which led 25-0 at halftime.

Samantha Milanovich had 105 receiving yards and scored on an interception return for the Mustangs.
