FLAG FOOTBALL: Hackett’s overtime TD run lifts Longhorns by Palo Verde
Kaila Hackett’s 5-yard touchdown run on fourth down in overtime lifted Legacy’s flag football team to a 13-7 win over host Palo Verde on Monday.
Brenden Miller’s interception on the Panthers’ overtime possession set the stage for the Longhorns to win the game.
Traonna Hamblet rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries for Legacy.
Spring Valley 34, Western 0 — At Spring Valley, Michaela Hood threw for 205 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Grizzlies by the Warriors.
Hood completed 13 of 15 passes.
Jozee DeCunzo rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, and teammate Doris Gutierrez-Hoyos caught four passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns for Spring Valley. Jasmine Fualau and Paige Jacobson also caught TD passes for the Grizzlies.
Boulder City 33, Desert Pines 6 — At Desert Pines, Jeanne Carmell threw four touchdown passes and ran for a score as the Eagles topped the Jaguars.
Carmell, who rushed for 94 yards on eight carries, completed 18 of 26 passes for 254 yards.
Kenadee Bailey, Makenzy Waldo, Oshanna Remy and Samantha Lawrence each caught a TD pass for Boulder City.
Shadow Ridge 33, Durango 6 — At Durango, Victoria Tolle threw three touchdown passes to lead the Mustangs over the Trailblazers.
Jordan Ford rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown, and Samantha Milanovich caught two touchdown passes for Shadow Ridge, which also got a TD reception from Samantha Kaplan.
Virgin Valley 31, Moapa Valley 26 — At Mesquite, Katie Zuniga rushed for four touchdowns as the Bulldogs edged the Pirates.
Del Sol 39, Sunrise Mountain 13 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kalijah Williams ran for 207 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries as the Dragons rolled past the Miners.
Sierra Vista 25, Mojave 12 — At Sierra Vista, Kalei Watkins rushed for 60 yards and threw a touchdown pass as the Mountain Lions broke a 6-6 halftime tie and downed the Rattlers.
Las Vegas 14, Valley 13 — At Valley, the Wildcats nipped the Vikings.
Tech 19, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, the Roadrunners blanked the Cowboys.
Cheyenne 24, Clark 0 — At Clark, the Desert Shields downed the Chargers.
