FLAG FOOTBALL: Jamie Kalaau-Sunia’s second half touchdown catch lifts Sierra Vista over Durango
Jamie Kalaau-Sunia caught the game-winning 5-yard touchdown pass in the second half Tuesday to give the Sierra Vista flag football team the 12-7 win over host Durango.
Courtney O’Neal supplied a 7-yard TD rush for Sierra Vista in the first half.
Claudina Luna had a TD reception from quarterback Marina Bacon for Durango’s lone score. Deszarai Bellender rushed for 159 yards, and teammate Kiana-Capri had 87 yards on the ground for the Trailblazers.
Spring Valley 26, Clark 20 (OT) — At Spring Valley, Teegan Teal tossed a touchdown pass to Savannah Villenueva in overtime to give the Grizzlies the win over the Chargers.
Teal tied the game for Spring Valley in the fourth quarter as she tossed a TD pass and then ran for the two-point conversion.
Desert Oasis 28, Bonanza 25 — At Bonanza, Makayla Rickard rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns and added a passing touchdown to give the Diamondbacks a victory.
LillyAnna Ghanem added a 40-yard rushing touchdown for Desert Oasis.
Briana Hernandez-Silva ran for 198 yards and two touchdowns and added another two touchdowns passing for the Bengals.
Alicia Kestner caught six passes for 65 yards and two touchdowns for the Bengals, and Destiny Bradford recorded seven tackles and an interception.
Boulder City 26, Del Sol 6 — At Boulder City, Taylor Tenney and Nicole Valle both threw touchdown passes in a victory over the Dragons.
Emily Mull caught two touchdowns for Boulder City. Kenadee Bailey recorded two interceptions.
Las Vegas 32, Rancho 7 — At Las Vegas, Natalie Gennuso caught six passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcats routed the Rams.
Kiura Shipman ran for 95 yards on 13 carries with a score, and Mary Sabanico ran for a TD for Las Vegas, which led 19-7 at halftime.
Quarterback Kaitlyn Horstdaniel finished six of nine passing for 74 yards and two TDs for Las Vegas.
Tech 37, Chaparral 6 — At Chaparral, Katy Orellana threw three touchdown passes and rushed for a score as the Roadrunners routed the Cowboys.
Orellana completed 7 of 10 passes for 125 yards. She also rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries.
Aylin Silva had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown, and Avery Rayos and Jalin Arroyo each caught a TD pass for Tech.
Orellana also intercepted two passes.
Virgin Valley 34, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Katie Zuniga and Elizabeth DeLeon each rushed for two touchdowns as the Bulldogs shut out the Pirates.
Zuniga rushed for 95 yards on12 carries, and DeLeon had 79 yards on 11 attempts.
Kallie Graves added a rushing TD, and also completed 19 of 22 passes for 173 yards.
