FLAG FOOTBALL: Kallie Graves, Virgin Valley rally in second half to defeat Tech

Virgin Valley’s flag football team scored two second-half touchdowns to rally from a six-point halftime deficit and defeat Tech, 26-19 in a battle of top Class 3A Sunrise League teams on Thursday.

Kallie Graves completed 9 of 15 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown and ran for 70 yards and two scores to lead the Bulldogs. Elizabeth DeLeon had seven carries for 36 yards and a TD, and Dylan Bryant had three catches for 50 yards and a TD for Virgin Valley.

Katy Orellana rushed for 80 yards and three first-half TDs to give Tech a 19-13 lead at halftime.

But Virgin Valley scored twice to retake the lead. The Roadrunners got the ball back in the final minute and drove to the Virgin Valley 10-yard line, but the Bulldogs batted down a fourth-down pass to end the threat.

Bonanza 20, Durango 13 — At Bonanza, Brianna Hernandez-Silva ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries to lead the Bengals past the Trailblazers.

Brittney Calhoun also scored on a 5-yard touchdown run for Bonanza. Kiara Castro-Avalos had nine tackles to lead the Bengals defense.

Kiana-Capri Wilcox had 11 carries for 133 yards and a TD for Durango, and teammate Deszarai Bellender added 13 carries for 112 yards and a score.

Valley 26, Eldorado 19 — At Valley, Heather Robinson ran for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass as the Vikings held off the Sundevils.

Sol Gonzalez-Pacheco also scored a rushing touchdown for Valley, which jumped to a 20-6 first-half lead.

Athziri Perez had nine tackles to lead the Vikings defense.

Del Sol 21, Chaparral 12 — At Del Sol, Angel Hodges ran for 92 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries as the Dragons rallied past the Cowboys.

Xolani Frazier caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Angel Jones for Del Sol, which scored 21 second-half points after trailing 6-0 at halftime.

Boulder City 39, Moapa Valley 6 — At Boulder City, Kenadee Bailey had six carries for 128 yards and three touchdowns and three catches for 30 yards and a score as the Eagles routed the Pirates.

Bailey also led the defense with 10 tackles.

Taylor Tenney completed 11 of 17 passes for 102 yards and a TD and ran for 113 yards and a TD for Boulder City.

London Ayers also had a rushing TD for the Eagles.

Desert Oasis 27, Spring Valley 7 — At Desert Oasis, the Diamondbacks stormed to a 20-7 lead before topping the Grizzlies.

Sierra Vista 33, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jamie Kalaau-Sunia scored three touchdowns as the Mountain Lions shut out the Chargers.

Courtney O’Neal and Mia Buanamontri each added a TD for Sierra Vista.

Rancho 25, Canyon Springs 6 — At Rancho, the Rams grabbed a 13-0 halftime lead en route to a earning a victory over the Pioneers.
