FLAG FOOTBALL: Maloney accounts for six touchdowns, Durango dumps Moapa Valley
Amanda Maloney rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns and threw for three touchdown passes Friday to lead Durango’s flag football team to a 38-7 home win over Moapa Valley.
Ciena Cuellar caught two touchdown passes, and Khaia Holmes had a receiving TD for the Trailblazers.
Hatti Gordon rushed for a touchdown for the Pirates.
Sierra Vista 36, Shadow Ridge 13 — At Sierra Vista, Jeri Lett rushed for three touchdowns and threw a TD pass to Anna Montemalo as the Mountain Lions topped the Mustangs.
Anye Drummond ran for a score, and Vladana Lazic returned an interception for a touchdown for Sierra Vista.
Alejandra Lara and Allie Ortega each had a TD run for Shadow Ridge.
Valley 20, Las Vegas 9 — At Valley, Kayla Steiner, Fantija Williams and DaNiece Dixon each scored a touchdown to lead the Vikings by the Wildcats.
Cierra Turner had a touchdown for Las Vegas.
Palo Verde 46, Spring Valley 18 — At Spring Valley, Daniesha Clayton rushed for three touchdowns and caught a TD pass as the Panthers rolled by the Grizzlies.
Natalia Albarran rushed for two scores and caught a TD pass for Palo Verde.
Amberlynn Twigg threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns, and Raven Bierlein added a TD pass for Spring Valley.
Canyon Springs 6, Desert Pines 2 — At Canyon Springs, Tea Rivera’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Amaya Youngblood in the second half lifted the Pioneers past the Jaguars.
Mariyah Espinoza rushed for 145 yards on 18 carries for Desert Pines.
Green Valley 26, Sunrise Mountain 6 — At Green Valley, Morgan Gibson was 21-for-40 passing for 272 yards and four touchdows as the Gators topped the Miners.
Carli Perkins caught five passes for 88 yards and two toucdowns, and Kalli Fisher had four receptions for 74 yards and a score for Green Valley, which also got a touchdown catch from Jackie Cook.
