FLAG FOOTBALL: Skylar Jimenez scores twice in Western win
Skylar Jimenez rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries to help power Western’s flag football team to a 26-15 home win over Desert Pines on Tuesday.
Fabray Elam ran for 65 yards and a score for the Warriors.
Quarterback Yareth Medina threw a TD pass to Alejandra Alvarez-Torres for Western.
Shadow Ridge 27, Arbor Ridge 12 — At Shadow Ridge, Samantha Milanovich accounted for two touchdowns and added three extra points receiving to help the Mustangs down the Aggies.
Milanovich had eight receptions for 65 yards and a score and also had 20 yards and a TD on three carries. Shadow Ridge quarterback Nicole Tripp-Herring went 13-for-16 for 148 yards and two touchdowns passing, including a 15-yard scoring strike to Sonia Triana.
Dayvian Diaz finished with 112 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and also had an interception for Shadow Ridge, which led 14-6 at halftime.
Green Valley 30, Silverado 12 — At Silverado, Bella Cipili threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score, and Deborah Grant ran for 71 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries as the Gators took down the Skyhawks.
Christina Mayaberry caught five passes for 71 yards and a TD and also ran for a score, and Alyson Thorne caught a 14-yard scoring pass for Green Valley.
Kui’Puha Untalan had two rushing touchdowns for Silverado.
Foothill 55, Basic 0 — At Basic, Madisyn McArthur threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a two-point extra point in the Falcons’ win over the Wolves.
Paityn Toohey rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries, and Sydney Babakitis caught two TDs for Foothill.
Falcons backup quarterback Tomi Luke tossed two touchdowns, and teammate Chloe Collins added a 51-yard TD run.
Morgan Melton, Whitley Brow and Julia Lynch each had a touchdown reception for Foothill.
Coronado 20, Liberty 0 — At Coronado, Caitlin Shannon completed 12 of 21 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns and added seven carries for 62 yards and a score as the Cougars shut out the Patriots.
Jensen Boman had four catches for 63 yards and a TD, and teammate Sydnee Hansen caught a touchdown pass for Coronado.
Cheyenne 49, Mojave 0 — At Cheyenne, Andrea Hammond ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries as the Desert Shields routed the Rattlers.
Quarterback E’leseana Patterson ran for two scores and had two TD passes for Cheyenne.
Kiantera Neal had four tackles and two sacks for the Desert Shields, who led 24-0 at halftime.
Palo Verde 19, Legacy 12 — At Legacy, the Panthers rallied from a 6-0 halftime deficit to defeat the Longhorns.
Legacy’s Jalyn Joule ran for a score and also threw a touchdown pass to Mia Samuels. Heaven Menendez added 115 yards on 23 rushing attempts for the Longhorns.
