FLAG FOOTBALL: Tygh, Panthers hold off Desert Shields

Alyssa Tygh rushed for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to help Palo Verde’s flag football team hold off visitiing Cheyenne, 20-18, on Tuesday.

Palo Verde’s Cydnee Bush scored on a 60-yard run on the first play from scrimmage.

The Panthers also had a a 12-yard TD pass from Tygh to Allyson Snelling.

Sierra Vista 52, Durango 42 — At Durango, Calista Reyes scored four touchdowns to lead the Mountain Lions over the Trailblazers.

Reyes rushed for 233 yards and three TDs, and had 70 receiving yards and one score.

Kalei Watkins passed for 227 yards and four touchdowns for Sierra Vista. Vladna Lazic had 127 receiving yards and two TDs for the Mountain Lions, who also got a TD reception from Neomi Vazquez.

Erica White intercepted two passes for Sierra Vista.

Durango’s Amanda Maloney completed 21 of 26 passes for 368 yards and six touchdowns. Maloney also ran for 66 yards, and Natalia Avila-Cruz added 105 yards receiving and two scores for the Trailblazers.

Las Vegas 18, Desert Pines 7 — At Las Vegas, quarterback Paulina Franco passed for 156 yards and three touchdowns to help the Wildcats down the Jaguars.

Danielle Ruesch caught five passes for 91 yards and a score, and Anna Dobbins also had a TD catch for Las Vegas.

Liberty 39, Canyon Springs 6 — At Liberty, quarterback Jaira Kalama threw for 195 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Patriots to an easy victory over the Pioneers.

Lauren Surick and Pualani Tuika each hauled in two TD passes, and Makenzie Malkiewicz rushed for 108 yards and two scored for Liberty.

Legacy 45, Moapa Valley 6 — At Overton, the Longhorns defeated the Pirates.

Spring Valley 30, Shadow Ridge 24 — At Shadow Ridge, the Grizzlies beat the Mustangs.
