Roundup: Rancho slips by host Canyon Springs in OT
Talaya Williams scored on a 10-yard rushing touchdown, and Hailey Nevil caught the game-winning conversion in overtime to lift Rancho’s flag football team to a 7-6 road win at Canyon Springs on Friday afternoon.
Xiomara Flores-Campos threw the one-point conversion to Nevil.
Canyon Springs had scored on its first possession of overtime, but the Pioneers failed their conversion.
Bonanza 28, Durango 20 — At Durango, Cindylou Rasiang completed 14 of 25 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score as the Bengals edged the Trailblazers.
Alexis Marquez, Alicia Kestner and Shayne Dunn each caught a touchdown, and Charlene Beck had 13 carries for 76 yards for Bonanza.
Laura Valle had five tackles and an interception to lead the defense.
Del Sol 21, Chaparral 6 — At Chaparral, Stephanie Tewart threw a touchdown and ran for a score as the Dragons scored 14 unanswered points in the first half to defeat the Cowboys.
Angel Hodges added a rushing TD for Del Sol.
Chaparral’s Alyssa Porras had a 4-yard rushing touchdown in the second half.
Virgin Valley 32, Tech 6 — At Mesquite, Katie Zuniga had 15 carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns to power the Bulldogs past the Roadrunners.
Kallie Graves was 13-for-26 passing for 165 yards and a touchdown to Madison Cheney for Virgin Valley, which led 19-6 at halftime.
Macee Bundy and Emily Teerlink each had a rushing touchdown for the Bulldogs.
Sierra Vista 40, Clark 19 — At Sierra Vista, Courtney O’Neal ran for 214 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries to lead the Mountain Lions past the Chargers.
O’Neal also caught a touchdown pass for Sierra Vista.
Jamie Kaalaau-Sunia caught five passes for 95 yards and a touchdown for the Mountain Lions.
Boulder City 7, Moapa Valley 6 — At Overton, the Eagles rallied from a 6-0 halftime deficit to edge the Pirates.
Alexis Schraft caught seven passes for 46 yards and a touchdown for Moapa Valley.
Desert Oasis 39, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Makayla Rickard completed 17 of 29 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a score to help the Diamondbacks rout the Grizzlies.
Georgia Sykes had four catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns, and Ruby Martinez and Canei Cunningham each had a touchdown reception for Desert Oasis.
Izriah Hodson also ran for a touchdown.
