Cammack powers Rams to victory
Canyon Springs (0-4, 0-2 Northeast) was unable to contain Rancho’s (2-3, 1-0) high-octane offense, which generated 654 yards of total offense as the Rams earned a 44-31 road victory on Friday.
Senior quarterback James Cammack led Rancho’s aerial assault on the Pioneers, completing 23 of 36 passes for 474 yards and six touchdowns.
Cammack hooked up with wide receiver Dijon Holman seven times for 210 yards and two touchdowns, one of which came on a 65-yard hook-and-lateral play with 30 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
Wide receiver Harvey Yarbrough recorded three touchdowns on 117 yards receiving. Cedric Williams rounded out the attack with 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
For Canyon Springs, the night belonged to wide receiver Deshaun Stewart, who caught only three passes but managed to turn those into 153 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
