The sophomore cruised to the individual title at the Class 4A Sunrise Region meet at Craig Ranch Park, finishing the 3.1- mile race in 18 minutes, 57.9 seconds to win by more than 30 seconds.

Bobby Webster, Palo Verde

The senior had an 89-yard touchdown run, seven solo tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack to lead the Panthers to a 24-9 victory over Shadow Ridge to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Jose Arreola, Sunrise Mountain

The senior had hat tricks in both his games last week and added two assists to help finish an undefeated regular season for the Miners.

Tavin Hays, Bishop Gorman

The senior finished with a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Desert Oasis and added a goal and two assists in an 8-1 win over Bonanza to help the Gaels wrap up the Southwest League title.

Rachel Klopfer, Green Valley

The senior outside hitter had 10 kills and 12 digs in a three-set victory over Basic and finished with 20 kills, nine digs and four blocks as Gators upset Southeast League champion Silverado, 10-25, 25-14, 31-33, 25-19, 15-9.

ARBOR VIEW — Boys cross country runner Ian Jackson placed second at the Class 4A Sunset Region meet, covering the 3.1-mile course at Craig Ranch Park in 15 minutes, 46.3 seconds.

BONANZA — Boys cross country runner Brandon Adams placed 18th at the Sunset Region meet at Craig Ranch Park with a time of 16 minutes, 51.3 seconds to qualify for the state meet.

BOULDER CITY — Girls cross country runner Sierra Selinger won the Class 3A Southern Region title at Craig Ranch Park with a time of 19 minutes, 50.6 seconds for 3.1 miles.

CENTENNIAL — Offensive tackle Elijah Aiono helped the Bulldogs rack up 426 rushing yards in a 55-21 upset of Faith Lutheran. Girls cross country runner Alexis Gourrier won the Sunset Region title, covering the 3.1-mile course at Craig Ranch Park in 18 minutes, 41 seconds.

DESERT OASIS — Football player Yero Guzman had 39 carries for 235 yards and a touchdown in a 14-13 loss to Spring Valley.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Girls volleyball player Sydney Washington had a total of 32 kills and four blocks in two matches.

LEGACY — Football player Amorey Foster had a 46-yard rushing touchdown and caught a 43-yard TD pass in a 41-14 win over Cimarron-Memorial.

MOJAVE — Girls volleyball player Samantha Rebolledo had 10 kills and 12 digs in a win over Desert Pines. Boys soccer player Christopher Reyes finished the regular season with eight goals and two assists.

NEEDLES — Football player Derek Wagstaff rushed for 217 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-7 home win over The Meadows.

PAHRUMP VALLEY — Girls soccer player Noemi Valle Diaz made 13 saves against Western.

PALO VERDE — Girls cross country runner Emma Wahlenmaier finished second at the Sunset Region meet at Craig Ranch Park with a time of 19 minutes, 13.3 seconds for 3.1 miles. Boys soccer player Timothy Stephens had four goals in a 5-2 win over Shadow Ridge.

SIERRA VISTA — Girls cross country runner Erendira Sanchez placed 43rd at the Sunset Region meet at Craig Ranch Park with a time of 23 minutes, 3.2 seconds for 3.1 miles. Boys cross country runner Dylan Batoon was 46th at the Sunset Region meet with a time of 18:01 for 3.1 miles.

Coronado girls down Gorman for 5A volleyball region title

The Coronado girls volleyball team swept Bishop Gorman to win the Class 5A Southern Region final Saturday at Palo Verde. Both teams advance to the state tournament.
