The junior wide receiver/cornerback had a 32-yard touchdown catch, an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, a 12-yard return of a blocked punt for a touchdown and blocked a field goal attempt to help the Spartans to a 42-14 win over Bonanza, securing a playoff spot for the first time since 2009.

The junior quarterback completed 34 of 53 passes for 459 yards and seven touchdowns in a 63-24 victory over Basic in the Sunrise Region quarterfinals.

The senior forward had four goals in the championship match and nine goals total in three matches as the Sundevils won the Sunrise Region tournament.

HEAD OF THE CLASS

CENTENNIAL — Football running back Lantz Worthington rushed for 125 yards on 13 carries, including a go-ahead 91-yard touchdown run, to lead the Bulldogs past host Legacy, 28-17.

DESERT OASIS — Boys cross country runner Frankie Martinez finished 24th in the Division I state meet, completing the 3.1-mile race in 17 minutes, 34 seconds. Girls cross country runner Brooke Locey placed 28th in the Division I state meet, finishing in 21:14.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Football running back Fabian Lagudi came off the bench to rush for 198 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries as the host Crusaders topped Desert Pines, 48-41 in the Division I-A state playoffs. Girls volleyball outside hitter Cayla Nikodemus had 43 kills and 23 digs in three matches as the Crusaders topped Sunrise Mountain, Clark and Boulder City to win the Division I-A Southern Region tournament.

LAS VEGAS — Football wide receiver Aaron Zanin-Banks had nine catches for 179 yards and four touchdowns as the Wildcats cruised to a 63-24 win at Basic in the first round of the Sunrise Region playoffs.

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Football running back Jacob Duldulao had nine carries for 48 yards and a touchdown, returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown and had an interception in the Saints’ 41-27 home win over Needles in the Division III state playoffs.

PALO VERDE — Boys soccer forward Nolan Sherwood scored the tying and winning goals in the Panthers’ 3-2 win over Legacy, and had both goals and a penalty kick goal in the shootout of a 2-2 tie against Bishop Gorman. Girls volleyball outside hitter Kendall Cheval had 28 kills, eight aces, 29 digs and two blocks in wins over Legacy, Centennial and Bishop Gorman as the Panthers captured the Sunset Region championship.

SIERRA VISTA — Football running back/safety Maliek Broady had 30 carries for 188 yards and 11 tackles and one forced fumble in a 21-13 loss to Spring Valley.
