LIONS TOURNEY: Staton’s homer helps Green Valley to victory
Tariq Staton went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs Wednesday to lead Green Valley’s baseball team to a 10-2 win over El Camino Real (Calif.) in the Mike Marrow Lions Invitational in San Diego.
Cameron Harper was 3-for-4 for Green Valley, and teammates Gabe Douglas and Anthony Uran added two hits apiece.
Uran and Scott Arn homered for the Gators.
Madison (Calif.) 2, Silverado 0 — Ian Clarkin tossed a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and one walk as the Warhawks downed the Skyhawks.
A.J. Ford produced Silverado’s lone hit, a single in the fifth inning.
Del Campo (Calif.) 8, Desert Oasis 7 — The Crusaders smacked three home runs to edge the Diamondbacks.
Brennen Stott tripled and Jossaiah Raval had a double for Desert Oasis.
