ROUNDUP: Blake’s boomer leads Coronado past Rancho

Chris Blake broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to help Coronado’s baseball team beat host Rancho 7-4 on Monday.

Kenny Oakley earned a complete-game victory with four strikeouts, and Ryan Donahue went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Coronado.

Rancho’s Zak Qualls finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Brandon Pletsch was 2-for-4 with a home run for the Rams.

Legacy 11, Spring Valley 9 — At Spring Valley, Pierce Skinner singled to lead off the seventh inning and later scored the winning run on Tyler Thurston’s triple as the Longhorns edged the Grizzlies.

Andres Ortiz picked up the win for Legacy and also finished 3-for-5 with a three-run home run in the sixth inning. Adam Thompson went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs for the Longhorns.

Spring Valley’s Cameron Cole doubled, homered and drove in three runs.

Faith Lutheran 5, Bonanza 3— At Bonanza, J.B. Eary went 2-for-3 and hit a three-run double in the top of the eighth to lead the Crusaders past the Bengals.

Dylan Hanson had a triple for the Crusaders.

Sunrise Mountain 7, Western 6 — At Sunrise Mountain, Keaton Orey went 2-for-3 as the Miners built a 7-2 lead and held on to defeat the Warriors.

Western scored four runs in the top of the seventh and stranded the potential tying run at second when the game ended.

Chaparral 8, Del Sol 5 — At Chaparral, Ricky Perez was 2-for-2 with four RBIs to lead the Cowboys past the Dragons.
Perez also picked up the victory.

Mark Faranda was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs for Chaparral.

Foothill 11, Valley 4 — At Valley, Kris Soto got the win and went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored to help the Falcons roll past the Vikings.

Foothill’s Kyle Moyes homered and finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs.

Hansel Escamilla went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run for Valley.

Cheyenne 10, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Jerraco Lindsey was 3-for-3 with four RBIs to help the Desert Shields rout the Jaguars.

Marquise Hall was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Cheyenne. Hall and Joey Cunha combined for a one-hitter from the mound.

Silverado 23, Eldorado 4 — At Eldorado, Drew Robinson was 3-for-3 with a double, five runs and two RBIs to lead the Skyhawks in a rout of the Sundevils.

Morgan Stotts and Mike Meyers each added three for Silverado.

Eldorado’s Eric Larsen was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI.

Bishop Gorman 11, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Gorman, the Gaels scored 11 runs on nine hits in the bottom of the first and cruised to the win.

Johnny Field and Joey Gallo each went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Gorman. Gallo doubled twice, and Field had a triple.

Three Gaels pitchers combined on a one-hitter.

Calvary Chapel 19, Trinity 4 — At Paul Meyer Park, Steven Shigley went 3-for-4 with a home run and double to power the Lions past the Thunder in five innings.

Hunter Rodriguez was 4-for-4 with one RBI for Calvary Chapel.

Trinity’s Avery Harden doubled twice and drove in two runs.
