ROUNDUP: Bonanza breezes past Desert Oasis

Kris Bryant and Heriberto Orozco each smacked a pair of home runs Wednesday as Bonanza beat host Desert Oasis, 12-5.

Bryant went 3-for-5 with a triple and four RBIs, and Orozco had a double and three RBIs.

Mario Franzese contributed a homer, a triple and two RBIs for Bonanza, which pulled away with a five-run seventh.

Dylan Krasn had a two-run triple for Desert Oasis.

Bishop Gorman 11, Sierra Vista 9 — At the College of Southern Nevada, Joey Rickard went 3-for-3 with three RBIs as Gorman held off a furious comeback by the Mountain Lions to clinch at least a share of the Southwest League title.

Tyler Wagner was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored, and Joey Gallo homered for Gorman, which improved to 13-0 in the league and has a three-game lead over second-place Durango (10-3) with three games remaining.

Jake Hager was 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs for Sierra Vista, which trailed 9-0 after three innings. The Mountain Lions brought the potential tying run to the plate with two outs in the seventh, but Gorman pitcher Stephen Manthei struck out the final batter of the game.

Matt Holman was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Las Vegas 13, Desert Pines 0 — At Las Vegas, Paul Tejeda and Luke Lofgreen combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter to help the Wildcats rout the Jaguars.

Bryce Harper was 2-for-2 with two doubles and four runs, Brig Jensen was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Trevor Lowe was 2-for-3 for Las Vegas.

Miguel Ortiz added a triple and Tanner Chauncey hit a double for the Wildcats.

Rancho 6, Chaparral 4 — At Chaparral, Kevin Kline went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Justin Neubauer went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lift the Rams past the Cowboys.

Chaparral’s Raul Jiminez went 2-for-4 with a double.

Valley 12, Canyon Springs 6 — At Valley, Jesse Acosta went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs to help the Vikings beat the Pioneers.

Valley’s Marcus Mejia and Hector Robles each went 3-for-4.

Canyon Springs’ Brady Smith was 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs.

Durango 13, Clark 3 — At Durango, Josh Hull went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Danny Maloney went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Trailblazers over the Chargers in six innings.

Greg McKinney supplied a triple and Zack Hollenback had a double for Durango.

Clark’s Michael Quiroz tripled and Manny Estrada doubled.

Green Valley 10, Spring Valley 9 — At Green Valley, Jordan Van Hoosier smacked a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to help the Gators overcome an 8-6 deficit and edge the Grizzlies.

Rudy Strnad had an RBI double and scored twice, and Brett Harrison went 2-for-4 with a triple for Green Valley.

Spring Valley’s Billy Bob Ward went 3-for-5 and Aaron Blair homered.

Shadow Ridge 12, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Troy Williams tossed a five-inning two-hitter and was 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Mustangs over the Crusaders.

Shadow Ridge’s Alex Cromwick was 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs.

Allan Butler, Sean Hobbs, Quinn Moriarty and Trent Kinney each had a double for the Mustangs.

Arbor View 11, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Zach Hartman and Chris Manning each went 3-for-4 to help the Aggies to the five-inning win.

Manning doubled twice, and Arbor View’s Nick Urban was 2-for-2 with a triple.

Michael Fulks threw four shutout innings to get the win.

Pahrump Valley 6, Western 0 — At Pahrump, Sam Morrow tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Trojans past Western.
 
Morrow had seven strikeouts.
