ROUNDUP: Ferdinand’s three-run homer caps Foothill victory
Jake Ferdinand belted a walk-off three-run homer with two outs in the seventh inning Friday to lift host Foothill to a 7-4 win over Bonanza.
Ferdinand was 2-for-4 for Foothill, which trailed 4-1 entering the seventh.
The Falcons tied the game 4-4 on Michael Gibellina’s two-out two-run single.
Kris Bryant tripled for Bonanza.
Shadow Ridge 13, Del Sol 9 — At Shadow Ridge, Troy Williams went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to help the Mustangs beat the Dragons.
Logan DeRosier went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and four RBIs to help Shadow Ridge. Teammate Colt Stout, who came on in relief to pick up the win, went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Sierra Vista 14, Green Valley 4 — At Sierra Vista, Matt Holman had two hits and three RBIs to help the Mountain Lions down the Gators in five innings.
Tommy Barnes and Scotty Tomassetti each added two hits and two RBis for Sierra Vista, which trailed 4-0 before scoring five runs in the bottom of the first.
Jake Hager, Brooks Klein, David DeCarlo and Julian Cutolo each added two hits for the Mountain Lions.
Alex Estrella went the distance, allowing three earned runs on one hit.
Las Vegas 20, Basic 8 — At Basic, Quentin Mack went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored and the Wildcats came back from a 4-0 defecit to defeat the Wolves in six innings.
Brig Jensen went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs for Las Vegas. Luke Lofgreen went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Bryce Harper was 1-for-2 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs.
Palo Verde 14, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Brandon Laubhan was 4-for-4 with a triple, a home run and four RBIs to lead the Panthers to a rout of the Sundevils.
Branden Hepworth and Christian Centrella had three hits apiece for Palo Verde, which led 13-0 after two innings.
Panthers starter Dustin Morelli threw all five innings, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out four.
Alan Guerrero doubled for Eldorado.
Cheyenne 12, Western 7 — At Western, the Desert Shields scored six runs in the second inning and went on to beat the Warriors.
Cheyenne’s Brandon Duhon had a triple.
Chaparral 18, Agassi Prep 0 — At Chaparral, Ricky Perez, Garrett Munoz and Jeff Morgan combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Cowboys routed the Stars.
Mark Faranda had a triple and scored twice for Chaparral. Raul Jimenez had a double and scored two runs.
Cimarron-Memorial 13, Syracuse (Utah) 5 — At St. George, Utah, Kris Kaplan was 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and five
RBIs to lead the Spartans past Syracuse in the Little Caesar’s Invitational.
Kody Gorden had a home run, a double and three RBIs for Cimarron. Kaz Smith had a home run and two RBIs.
Pleasant Grove (Utah) 7, Centennial 6 — At St. George, Utah, the Bulldogs committed an infield error that led to three unearned Pleasant Grove runs in the bottom of the sixth inning at the Marshall Gates Classic.
Centennial led 6-4 heading into the sixth.
Mike Wagner and Matt Triana had two hits apiece for the Bulldogs.
Galena 12, Durango 5 — At Reno, the Trailblazers gave up 10 runs in the first inning of a loss to the Grizzlies in the Mike Bearman Memorial Tournament.
Camden Fresquez went 2-for-3 to lead Durango, which scored three runs in the first before faltering.
Beatty 12, Pahranagat Valley 6 — At Alamo, Isaias Flores was 4-for-4 with two doubles, two triples, three runs and two RBIs to lead the Hornets to the win in the Pahrangat Valley Panther Classic.
