ROUNDUP: Gallo’s five homers help Gaels to two wins at Easter Classic

Gallo, who had three homers in the team’s first game on Thursday, blasted solo homers in both his at-bats against the Hawks. Johnny Sewald, Kenny Meimerstorf and Cody Roper also homered for the Gaels.

Gorman’s Evan Dunn fired a five-inning one-hitter with six strikeouts.

Bishop Gorman 36, Cyprus (Utah) 1 — At Gorman, Gallo went 4-for-5 with three home runs and seven RBIs as the Gaels routed the Pirates.

Meimerstorf added two homers and seven RBIs for Gorman, which led 30-0 after two innings and finished with 31 hits.

Sewald, T.J. White and Michael Blasko also homered for the Gaels.

Gorman’s Jerrell Latham pitched a five-inning four-hitter.

Arbor View 5, Hilltop (Calif.) 3 — At San Diego, the Aggies scored five runs over the first two innings to take a 5-2 lead and held on for the win in the Lions Tournament.

Zach Quintana went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Arbor View.

Montgomery (Calif.) 5, Silverado 4 — At San Diego, Montgomery scored a run on a passed ball in the bottom of the eighth to nip the Skyhawks in the Lions Tournament.

Trevor Johnson was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Silverado, which outhit Montgomery 11-5.

Michael Meyers, Wyatt Reid and Marty Sifuentes each supplied two hits for the Skyhawks.

St. Paul (Calif.) 4, Foothill 1 — At San Diego, St. Paul scored a run in the top of the first and held on to top the Falcons in the Lions Tournament.

Foothill’s Tim Dupuis was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Westlake (Calif.) 6, Rancho 4 — At Mesa, Ariz., Kris Moore hit a bases-loaded triple with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to give Westlake the win in the Mesa Spring Invitational.

Moore hit an 0-2 pitch over the head of the left fielder for a three-run triple to make it 6-4. Rancho led 4-2 at the start of the inning.

Rancho’s Michael Cruz was 2-for-2 with two runs, and also was hit by a pitch and drew a walk.

Beatty 7-6, Tonopah 6-9 — At Beatty, Taylor McLauchlin went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the nightcap to help the Muckers salvage a split with the Hornets.

Jason Carmen was 2-for-4 for Tonopah, and Andrew Snyder added two RBIs for the Muckers, who scored four runs in the first inning.

Jose Moreno was 3-for-4 for Beatty, and Isaias Flores, Ivan Maldonado and Ramon Rodriguez each had two hits for the Hornets.

In the opener, Beatty scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for the win, which occurred when the Hornets scored two runs on an error with one out.

Flores went 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, Maldonado was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Ricardo Pelayo and Rodriguez each added two hits for Beatty.

Snyder went 2-for-4 to lead Tonopah.
