ROUNDUP: Liberty rallies past Eldorado for baseball win
Kyle Rynearson’s one-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Liberty’s baseball team to a 10-9 victory over visiting Eldorado on Saturday.
Eldorado led 7-0 before the Patriots rallied with six runs in the fourth. They added three in the sixth to take a 9-7 lead.
The Sundevils tied it in the top of the seventh on a two-out, two-run single by Daniel LeCavalier.
Seth Wieman went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and three RBIs to lead Liberty.
Jandy Eiroa and Manuel Menocal each went 2-for-4 for the Patriots. Menocal had two RBIs. Eiroa had a double. Robert Kinan was 2-for-5 for Liberty.
LeCavalier was 2-for-5 with three RBIs for the Sundevils.
Silverado 12, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Silverado, Bobby Johnson and Pierce Belaustegui each went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as the Skyhawks rolled past the Mustangs.
Johnson had a triple and two doubles for Silverado. Belaustegui doubled twice.
Coronado 5, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Justin Souza-Grenier went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs to lead the Cougars past the Diamondbacks.
Alex Watson tossed a complete-game seven-hitter and struck out two for Coronado.
Chaparral 10, Tech 3 — At Chaparral, Raul Jimenez went 4-for-4 with two runs and an RBI to lead the Cowboys past the Roadrunners.
Jordan January had a double and two RBIs for Chaparral. Jake Dahlman went the distance, tossing a three-hitter, and doubled and scored twice.
Desert Pines 25-14, Agassi Prep 2-3 — At Desert Pines, the Jaguars built a 15-2 lead after two innings in the opener and coasted past the Stars in both games of a doubleheader.
In the first game, James Young went 3-for-3 with a triple and a double to lead Desert Pines. Jerardo Cruz, Anthony Ruiz and Roberto Hernandez had two hits apiece.
In the nightcap, Cruz went 4-for-4 with a double. Young was 3-for-4 with a triple and a double for Desert Pines, and Hernandez and Angel Escobedo had two hits apiece.
Rancho 10-12, Desert Hills (Utah) 0-3 — At St. George, Utah, Zak Qualls and P.J. Matha combined on a five-inning one-hitter in the opener as the Rams cruised to a pair of wins.
Qualls struck out seven in three innings in the first game. Desert Hills’ lone hit came in the fifth inning.
Kevin Kline went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs for Rancho. Brandon Pletsch was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
In the nightcap, Justin Neubauer went 4-for-5 with four RBIs for the Rams. Justin Pankratz was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
Centennial 7, American Fork (Utah) 6 — At St. George, Utah, Anthony Consiglio’s one-out, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Matt Triana with the winning run as the Bulldogs won the Marshall Gates Invitational.
Consiglio went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Centennial, which rallied from a 5-3 deficit in the fifth inning.
Centennial 12, Copper Hills (Utah) 5 — At St. George, Utah, Dominick Monteiro was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, and
Blane Bevilacqua was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Bulldogs beat Copper Hills.
Consiglio went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Centennial.
Cimarron-Memorial 5, Provo (Utah) 3 — At St. George, Utah, Dyllon Nuernberg and Kody Gorden combined on a three-hitter as the Spartans won the Little Caesar’s Invitational.
Cimarron-Memorial 12, Fremont (Utah) 2 — At St. George, Utah, Taylor Doyle smacked a home run and two doubles and had three RBIs to lift the Spartans past Fremont and into the title game.
Sam Lindsey added a double and two RBIs for the Spartans.
Durango 11, Lowry 2 — At Reno, Billy Richardson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and the Trailblazers used a six-run third inning to down Lowry in the Mike Bearman Memorial Tournament.
Andrew Ferguson was 1-for-3 with three RBIs for Durango.
Damonte Ranch 10, Durango 2 — At Reno, Damonte Ranch scored in every inning except the fifth inning en route to the win.
Danny Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a run for the Trailblazers.
Foothill 16, Boulder City 2 — At Boulder City, Kris Soto was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs as the Falcons rolled to a five-inning win.
Jordan Stewart had a three-run homer for Foothill.
Beatty 4, Carlin 3 — At Alamo, the Hornets edged the Railroaders in the championship game of the Pahranagat Valley Panther Classic.
Ivan Maldonado drove in two runs. Jacob Sumpter added a hit and an RBI for Beatty.
Kyle Marchand pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs and striking out six. It was his second five-inning complete game in the tournament.
Beatty 17, Sandy Valley 2 — At Alamo, Sumpter had three RBIs as the Hornets rolled.
Joe Serrano had two hits and scored three runs for Beatty.
