Roundup: Michael Marraro’s eighth-inning single lifts Spring Valley
Michael Marraro’s RBI single in top of the eighth inning broke a 6-6 tie and lifted Spring Valley’s baseball team to an 8-6 road win over Durango on Friday.
Kevyn Fernandez, who went 2-for-4, drove in the final run with a two-out single in the eighth.
Chase Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a RBI for the Grizzlies.
Duke Pahukoa and Ryan Barry each tripled and drove in a run for the Trailblazers.
Boulder City 7, Moapa Valley 6 — At Boulder City, the Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the 10th to edge the Pirates.
Chafton Temple’s two-run double gave the Eagles the win. Travis Hungerford had an RBI groundout earlier in the 10th to cut the Moapa Valley lead to 6-5.
The Pirates took the lead in the top of the 10th on RBI singles by Daxton Longman and Chase Hadley.
Temple was 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and D.J. Reese, Teddy Lobkowicz, Rhett Armstrong, Anthony Pacifico and Jimmy Dunagan each had two hits for the Eagles.
Chase Guesman, Hunter Wrzesinski and Longman each had two hits for Moapa Valley.
Coby Longman went nine innings for the Pirates, striking out 10 and allowing two earned runs.
Basic 10, Coronado 2 — At Basic, Trace Evans went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Dominik Tavares was 3-for-4 with two runs to lead the Wolves past the Cougars.
Jesse Fonteboa was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Christian Rivero went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Basic.
Nick Thompson went the distance, scattering nine htis and striking out four, to get the win.
Jake McLean was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the first inning for Coronado. Christian Herrera and Ethan Stephens each added two hits for the Cougars.
Green Valley 19, Silverado 7 — At Green Valley, Gavin Amelburu and Jake Empey each hit a pair of homers to lead the Gators to the six-inning win over the Skyhawks.
Amelburu went 4-for-5 with a double and six RBIs, and Empey was 4-for-4 with three runs and five RBIs for Green Valley.
Garrett Nelson went 3-for-4 with a triple, four runs and four RBIs, and Max Leuga doubled twice for Green Valley.
Sean Graves was 3-for-4 with three runs to lead Silverado, which chased Green Valley starter Empey after one out.
Bonanza 13, Sierra Vista 7 — At Sierra Vista, Keanu Atienza-Sabagala doubled, drove in four runs and scored twice to lead the Bengals past the Mountain Lions.
Yankiel Gonzalez went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Julian DeLeon doubled and drove in a run and Ryan Webster doubled for the Bengals, who scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Sebastian Rosales-Hernandez allowed one unearned run and struck out three in three innings to pick up the win in relief of DeLeon.
Ramon Benitez tripled and drove in three runs to lead the Mountain Lions.
Josh DeGuzman and Tyler MacIntyre each tripled for the Mountain Lions.
Rancho 12, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Edarian Williams was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs to help the Rams to the five-inning win over the Sundevils.
Jimmy Gamboa was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Kagen Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs for Rancho.
Joey Walls and Layton Walls each added two hits for the Rams.
R.J. Forbus allowed three hits over four shutout innings to get the win. He struck out seven and walked two.
Tech 13, Western 9 — At Tech, Jason Collingbourne had two doubles and five RBIs as the Roadrunners defeated the Warriors.
Tech’s Sean Jones relieved Collingbourne in the fourth inning and tossed four shutout innings to earn the victory. Drew Cole went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, Gabe Kermode went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI and Jose Leon went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Tech..
Western’s Tyler Matthews went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Christian Perez was 2-for-4 for the Warriors.
Las Vegas 11, Canyon Springs 1 — At Las Vegas, Daniel Jimenez went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to power the Wildcats to the five-inning win over the Pioneers.
Brandon Smith was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs for Las Vegas.
Gavin Rhynes doubled for Canyon Springs.
Bishop Gorman 10, Trinity (Fla.) 0 — At the College of Southern Nevada, Carson Wells was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and an RBI to lead the Gaels to the five-inning win in the Desert Classic.
Connor O’Shea was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Christian Lamar and John Gaughan each drove in two runs for Gorman.
Dutch Landis allowed one hit over 5⅓ scoreless innings to get the win. He struck out seven and walked four.
Desert Oasis 9, Pleasant Grove (Utah) 6 — At Desert Oasis, Aaron Roberts pitched six innings and went 3-for-4 with a home run as the Diamondbacks defeated the Vikings in the Desert Classic.
Roberts struck out eight batters and allowed only two earned runs to earn the victory.
Desert Oasis’ Parker Schmidt went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and teammate Zac Czerniawksi went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Jake Fryer went 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, and two RBIs for Pleasant Grove.
Liberty 7, Cottonwood (Utah) 1 — At Liberty, Devin Contreras allowed one run on three hits and struck out five in five innings to lead the Patriots past the Colts in the Desert Classic.
Dylan San Nicolas went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI, and Zanden Shim doubled and drove in two runs for Liberty.
Desert Pines 7, Del Sol 4 — At Del Sol, James Greco was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs and picked up the victory in relief as the Jaguars defeated the Dragons.
Greco allowed an unearned run on seven hits in 6⅔ innings of relief. He struck out six and walked one.
Jorge Milian drove in two runs for Desert Pines.
Javier Borrero-Belen and Chandler Miller each went 2-for-3 for Del Sol.
Lincoln County 16-12, Lake Mead 5-9 — At Arroyo Grande Park, Kobe Walker and McKinley O’Connor each drove in three runs in the nightcap as the Lynx swept the Eagles.
Dean Ottley went 2-for-2 with two doubles, tow runs and an RBI for Lincoln County.
Mark Costolo was 2-for-5 with three RBIs for Lake Mead.
In the opener, Kamdon Lewis went 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs to lead the Lynx to the five-inning win.
Mason Thornock was 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, two runs and two RBIs for Lincoln County, and teammate Alex Vincent went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs.
