ROUNDUP: Uelmen pitches Faith Lutheran baseball past Basic

Erich Uelmen allowed just two hits during five shutout innings Saturday to lead Faith Lutheran’s baseball team to a 5-2 home win over Basic.

Uelmen struck out four, and teammate Jordan Dreibelbis completed a combined five-hitter for the Crusaders.

Uelmen also went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Dakota Greenawalt had a two-run sacrifice fly in the fifth inning for Faith Lutheran.

Arbor View 14, Las Vegas 4 — At Las Vegas, Kaid Urban went 4-for-4 with two triples, four runs and two RBIs as the Aggies routed the Wildcats in five innings.

Quinn Gallagher was 3-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs, and Braden Nixon went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Arbor View, which scored nine runs in the third inning.

Jeremiah Garcia was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Antonio Gaxiola went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Las Vegas.

SOFTBALL

Desert Oasis 5, Spring Valley 4 — At Desert Oasis, winning pitcher Shonda Badayos tossed a four-hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double to help the Diamondbacks nip the Grizzlies.

Raina Ladislao was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI, and Meagan Anders had an inside-the-park home run for Desert Oasis, which built a 4-1 lead in the third inning.

Raven Bierlein was 2-for-4 with a double for Spring Valley.

Arbor View 12, Las Vegas 2 — At Las Vegas, Sarah Bradford went 3-for-4 with two doubles, and the Aggies used a pair of six-run innings to defeat the Wildcats in six innings.

Kellie Anderson, Stephanie Huff and winning pitcher Ashlyn Ames each doubled and singled for Arbor View.

Sabrina Saldate had two hits for Las Vegas.

Faith Lutheran 15, Basic 2 — At Faith Lutheran, Lauryn Lipe went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and the Crusaders used an 11-run second inning to down the Wolves in five innings.

Vanessa Valdez was 3-for-4 with a double for Faith Lutheran, which started the second inning with 10 consecutive hits. Mosie Foley was 1-for-1 with a three-run double for the Crusaders.

Jodi Williams went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Basic.

Savanna (Calif.) 13-10, Bishop Gorman 7-0 — At Gorman, Kristin Worley was 3-for-5 with two doubles in the opener and 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBIs in the nightcap as the Rebels swept the Gaels.

Jezabelle Quintana went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and four RBIs in the first game for Savanna, and teammate Samantha Kennedy was 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs in the second game.

Gorman’s Shelby Estocado was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs and three RBIs in the opener.
