ROUNDUP: Wright’s go-ahead single leads Longhorns past Bulldogs

Joey Wright’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth put Legacy up 2-1, and the Longhorns held on for a 3-1 home win over Centennial on Tuesday.

Brayden Torres threw a six-hitter with 14 strikeouts to earn the victory for Legacy, which got a double from Josh Torres and a triple from Pierce Skinner.

Casey Moses went 3-for-3 to lead Centennial.

Palo Verde  6, Faith Lutheran 5 — At Palo Verde, Andy Dalaimo tripled with two outs in the bottom of the eighth and scored on a wild pitch to give the Panthers the victory.

Dalaimo and Cody Schuster each went 3-for-4 for Palo Verde, which got a double from Schuster.

Jordan Benson went 3-for-5 with two runs for the Panthers.

Cheyenne 11, Mojave 6 — At Mojave, Andrew Graham went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, and the Desert Shields scored 10 runs in the final two innings to knock off the Rattlers.

Three Cheyenne pitches combined on a three-hitter.

Bonanza 11, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Pahrump Valley, Joaquin Orozco went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Jake Zebe added three hits, four runs and an RBI as the Bengals routed the Trojans.

Travis Ming earned the win and went 3-for-3 at the plate for Bonanza, which got two hits and an RBI from Sean DeSoto.

Eddie Martinez homered, and Joey McCaw and Aaron Pike each had a double for Pahrump.

Cimarron-Memorial 13, Shadow Ridge 3 — At Cimarron, Kevin Dorantes was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs to lead the Spartans to the five-inning win.

Nathan Hale went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and A.J. Hernandez was 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBIs for Cimarron.

Travis Hendry added two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs for the Spartans.

Shadow Ridge’s Josh Roelofs went 2-for-3 with two triples and two runs.

Liberty 13, Tech 0 — At Liberty, Teddy Efthemeou tossed a one-hitter, and the Patriots scored seven runs in the bottom of the third to roll to the five-inning win.

Danny Topps went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, Anthony Rush was 3-for-3 with a double, and Manuel Manocal and Giovanni Battistoni each doubled for Liberty.

Spring Valley 12, Clark 0 — At Spring Valley, Dylan Drachler was 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs and also pitched a three-hitter to lead the Grizzlies to the five-inning win.

Drachler struck out 12 and walked two in the shutout.

Jacob Schwartz had a home run and three RBIs for Spring Valley.

Coronado 12, Moapa Valley 1 — At Coronado, Kenny Oakley and Chad Scott combined to toss a no-hitter, and the Cougars put up eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to cruise past the Pirates in five innings.

Ryan Donahue had two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored for Coronado, which got a double from Chris Blake and triples from Dillon Fahr and Steven Pollex.

Virgin Valley 15, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Virgin Valley, Matt Devore fired a no-hitter and had two hits at the plate as the Bulldogs blanked the Miners.

Tanner Tichenor smacked a three-run homer for Virgin Valley, which got two hits apiece from Nolan Tanner, Cameron Jenson and Brandt Eaton.

Desert Oasis 14, Silverado 9 — At Desert Oasis, Riley Smith went 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, and Jordan Compehos was 3-for-3 as the Diamondbacks defeated the Skyhawks.

Desert Oasis pounded out 18 hits, including six doubles.

Mike Meyers went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Silverado, and Trevor Johnson homered for the Skyhawks.

Bishop Gorman 12, North Salem (Ore.) 11 — At Gorman, Tyler Baker hit a two-run single with no outs in the bottom of the seventh as the Gaels nipped the Vikings.

Gorman led 10-3 entering the seventh, but North Salem plated eight runs in the top of the inning to take the lead.

Gorman’s Joey Gallo was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs.

Cody Roper was 3-for-3 with a solo homer, and T.J. White went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Gaels.

Erik Van Meetren and Johnhy Sewald also homered for Gorman.

Gaels starter Billy  Richardson allowed only one run in five innings, but the bullpen couldn’t hold a 10-1 lead.

Basic 14, Rock Canyon (Colo.) 7 — At Basic, Andrew Chaves went 5-for-5 with two doubles, four runs and two RBIs as the Wolves pulled away from Rock Canyon.

Matt Dembinski was 3-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBIs, and Dean Gettman was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Basic.

Green Valley 12, Cheyenne Mountain (Colo.) 7 — At Green Valley, Evan Van Hoosier was 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs to lift the Gators to the win.

Van Hoosier’s grand slam highlighted a five-run second inning for Green Valley.

Johnny Uran went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Green Valley, and Chad Whiteaker was 2-for-3.

Eldorado 11, North Eugene (Ore.) 7 — At Eldorado, Lucio Arreola went 2-for-3 with two homers and six RBIs to lead the Sundevils to the win.

Eldorado’s Eric Larsen was 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and thee runs, and teammate Chris Brown was 2-for-4 with two runs.
