Two-hitter helps Grizzlies top Sundevils
Craig Kirkpatrick and Josh Durazo combined on a two-hitter Saturday to lead Spring Valley’s baseball team to a 14-2, six-inning win at Eldorado.
Taylor Robison went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and Michael Macove was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs for Spring Valley.
Dylan Drachler was 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Grizzlies.
Rancho 12, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Jose Verdugo tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk, and went 2-for-3 as the Rams topped the Sundevils in five innings.
Bryce Harrell was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and four RBIs for Rancho.
Liberty 6, Desert Oasis 3 — At Desert Oasis, Preston Pavlica went 3-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs as the Patriots topped the Diamondbacks.
Chris Bradford and Giovanni Battistoni each went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Liberty.
Cody Schmidt was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs for Desert Oasis.
Grandview (Colo.) 9, Bishop Gorman 7 — At Gorman, Brooks Adams’ RBI single in the top of the seventh broke a 5-5 tie, and Jake Thurston followed with a bases-loaded triple to lift the Wolves by the Gaels in the Bishop Gorman Easter Classic.
Kenny Meimerstorf hit a two-run home run with two outs in the seventh to cut the deficit to two, but Gorman got no closer.
Nick Gates was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, and Cadyn Grenier went 2-for-3 with a double for the Gaels. Mike Blasko was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Gorman.
Arbor View 8, Legacy 0 — At Arbor View, Evan McMahan went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI, and four Aggies pitchers combined on a three-hitter in a win over the Longhorns.
Nate Stepna was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Brandon LaPointe went 2-for-2 with a double for Arbor View, which got a two-run home run from P.J. Gonzalez.
Coronado 9, Las Vegas 3 — At Las Vegas, Chandler Blanchard went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI to help the Cougars top the Wildcats.
Miles Bice was 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, and Michael Pollex went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Coronado.
Jose Sanchez was 2-for-2 with two runs to pace Las Vegas. Dustin Cash was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Eddie Ojeda went 2-for-3 for the Wildcats.
Chaparral 6-13, Parowan (Utah) 2-10 — At Chaparral, Tommy Crone tossed a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks in the opener as the Cowboys swept the Rams

In the nightcap, Zach Harman went 3-for-5 with an RBI, and Louie Jerry Zendejas was 2-for-2 with two runs for Chaparral.
Faith Lutheran 9, Durango 4 — At Durango, the Crusaders plated six runs in the top of the fourth to break a 2-2 tie en route to the win.
Logan Etherington was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Dakota Greenwalt hit a solo homer for Faith Lutheran, which got two RBIs from Tyler Trageton.
