Unruh’s no-no lifts Faith to Silver Division title
Terry Unruh pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts Friday to lead Faith Lutheran to a 9-0 win over Sierra Vista in the Silver Division title game of the American Legion state tournament at Eldorado.
Three walks — all in the first inning — prevented Unruh from tossing a perfect game.
Michael Foley and Bobby Burns had three hits each for the Crusaders (18-5).
Foley, a shortstop, was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
The Crusaders took the lead early, scoring five runs in the first inning. They collected 14 hits overall.
Faith Lutheran clinched a spot in the Central States Tournament from Aug. 6 to 9 in Milbank, S.D.
