BASKETBALL: Oubre, Pilots roll

Kelly Oubre had 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists Saturday to help Findlay Prep’s boys basketball team to a 55-35 win over Corona del Sol (Ariz.) in the Duel in the Desert in Phoenix.

Craig Victor had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Justin Jackson added nine points, three rebounds and three steals for the Pilots (18-3).

Bishop Gorman 57, Gonzaga (D.C.) 49 — At Wheeling, W. Va., Stephen Zimmerman had 17 points and eight rebounds to help the Gaels top the Eagles in the Cancer Research Classic.

Nick Blair scored 15 points, and Noah Robotham added nine points and eight assists for Gorman, which trailed 30-29 at halftime before scoring the first eight points of the third quarter. The Gaels never trailed after the second-half run.

Chris Lykes led Gonzaga with 16 points, and teammate Sam Miller added 10 points.

Desert Oasis 57, Benson (Ariz.) 50 — At Pinetop-Lakeside, Ariz., Kodi Leslie had 13 points to lift the Diamondbacks over the Bobcats in the semifinals of the White Mountain Holiday Classic.

Chris Ruscheinsky added 12 points, and Rodrick Moore scored 11 for Desert Oasis, which led 27-10 after the first quarter.

Dante Britton and Sean Brogan had 17 points apiece for Benson, which also got 10 points from Cody Wilson.

Blue Ridge (Ariz.) was a 48-31 winner over the Diamondbacks in the title game.

Mountain View (Utah) 75, Arbor View 60 — At Gillette, Wyo., Manuel Ortiz scored 21 points, and Mountain View made 11 3-pointers to down the Aggies in the championship game of the Energy Classic.

It was the first loss of the season for Arbor View (11-1).

Terrell Butler finished with 19 points to lead the Aggies. Teammates Justin Burks and Charles Porter each had 13 points, and Isaiah Simmons posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Arbor View led by five points after the first quarter, but Mountain View used a 26-13 second-quarter run to build a 37-29 halftime lead.

Kingman Academy (Ariz.) 47, Agassi Prep 44 — At Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Deishuan Booker led all scorers with 24 points, but the Stars fell to the Tigers in the championship game of the Lake Havasu Invitational.

Dennis Walker added nine points for Agassi Prep.

Agassi Prep 33, Lake Havasu (Ariz.) 30 — At Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Booker scored 14 points as the Stars edged the host Knights in the semifinals of the Lake Havasu Invitational.

Kobe Williams added seven points for Agassi Prep.

Agassi Prep 43, Kingman Academy (Ariz.) 41 — At Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Booker hit two free throws in the final seconds to help the Stars get by the Tigers in the Lake Havasu Invitational.

Booker finished with 28 points for Agassi Prep, which trailed 25-20 at the break.

Williams recorded six points for the Stars.

GIRLS

Bishop Gorman 79, Selma (Calif.) 66 —At Gorman, Maddison Washington’s 24 points helped give the Gaels a victory over the Bears.

Sandria Bolden hit four 3-pointers and had 14 points, and Megan Jacobs scored 11 for the Gaels.
