BOYS BASKETBALL: Crayon lifts Sundevils over Rancho
Carl Crayon scored 23 points, including a go-ahead layup with six seconds left to lift Eldorado’s boys basketball team to a 61-58 road win over Rancho on Tuesday.
Shane Barnes had 17 points for the Sundevils, and teammate Carmonte Jones added 10 points, including two free throws in the closing seconds to provide the final margin.
Lamont Traylor had 26 points to lead Rancho. Jahleel Stevens and Tommy Robertson each added 10 points for the Rams.
Liberty 51, Silverado 46 — At Silverado, Logan Koch had 19 points and the Patriots upset the Skyhawks.
Cameron Burist added 12 points for Liberty, which used an 8-2 second-quarter run to take a 19-16 halftime lead.
Tyric Johnson led Silverado with 13 points, and Evan Tafoya scored 10 for the Skyhawks.
The win moved the Patriots (5-2) within one-half game of Silverado (6-2) for first place in the Northeast League. Liberty hosts Valley in its final regular-season game on Thursday, while Silverado has finished its league schedule.
A victory over the Vikings would give Liberty the league’s top postseason berth because it swept the Skyhawks. Silverado actually won the first meeting on the court, but had to forfeit because five players left the bench during an altercation.
Green Valley 90, Basic 80 — At Green Valley, Canyon Lewis had 29 points and 19 rebounds as the Gators defeated the Wolves.
Xavier Jarvis scored 28 points, and teammate Matthew Tuttle supplied 13 points and eight assists for Green Valley
Tyrone Myers scored 15 points to lead Basic. DeShawn Eagles had 14 points, and teammate Denagio Scarlett scored 12 for the Wolves.
Coronado 70, Foothill 39 — At Foothill, Jake DesJardins scored 18 points as the Cougars routed the Falcons.
Nick Davis had 15 points for Coronado, which got 10 points apiece from Trey Hurlburt and Bryce Savoy.
Jonny Rolle and Devon Erb each had eight points to pace Foothill.
Centennial 85, Arbor View 50 — At Centennial, Roy Sparks hit five 3-pointers and had 15 points as the Bulldogs ran away from the Aggies.
Jake Hutchings added 13 points, and Troy Brown scored 11 for Centennial, which led 48-23 at the half.
Jarrod Burks paced Arbor View with 14 points, and teammate Jesse Vogel scored 13.
Canyon Springs 80, Valley 49 — At Valley, Zaahid Muhammad had 14 points as the Pioneers rolled to victory over the Vikings.
Derrick Legardy added 12 points, and Kevin Legardy scored 10 for the Pioneers, who had 13 players score.
Zach Nichols paced Valley with 17 points, and teammate Roell King scored 13.
Calvary Chapel 66, The Meadows 63 — At The Meadows, Quentin Hank had 22 points as the Lions rallied by the Mustangs.
Alec Neider had 15 points, and Killian Diers scored 10 for Calvary Chapel, which made 10 3-pointers in the game but still trailed 52-47 entering the fourth quarter.
Jake Epstein led The Meadows with 16 points. Ethan Fridman had 15 points, and Max Hisatake scored 14 for the Mustangs, who got 11 points from Asheesh Chopra.
Mountain View 61, Lake Mead 28 — At Mountain View, Tevin Gray scored 27 points as the Saints rolled past the Eagles.
Tyrell Brooks added 12 points for Mountain View, which led 31-12 at the half.
Noah Tassi hit five 3-pointers and had 17 points for Lake Mead.
Spring Mountain 60, Indian Springs 21 — At Indian Springs, Tyrese Cook had 10 points to lead the Golden Eagles by the Thunderbirds.
Eric Massey added nine points for Spring Mountain, which led 43-11 at the half.
Gabe Brownotter led Indian Springs with 10 points.
Agassi Prep 71, Laughlin 19 — At Laughlin, the Stars opened the game on a 19-3 run and routed the Cougars.
