BOYS BASKETBALL: Cris Dominguez, Basic top Liberty at buzzer
Cris Dominguez hit a buzzer-beater to give Basic’s boys basketball team a 68-67 home win over Liberty on Thursday.
Dominguez, who led all scorers with 25 points, drove into the lane and hit a leaner from near the elbow as time expired.
Geoff Faries added 12 points, and Frank Harris had 10 points and 22 rebounds for the Wolves.
Julian Strawther led Liberty with 14 points. Cameron Burist and Braden Cain added 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the Patriots.
Coronado 76, Silverado 66 — At Coronado, Kennedy Koehler notched 37 points, 18 rebounds and five assists to lift the Cougars over the Skyhawks.
Trey Hurlburt added 16 points for Coronado, which used a 23-15 third-quarter run to take control. Tahj Comeaux had nine points, and Will Weems grabbed eight rebounds for the Cougars.
Devin Ross scored 19 points to lead Silverado, and Martell Williams and Caden Farley each scored 16 points for the Skyhawks.
Cimarron-Memorial 61, Legacy 51 — At Cimarron, Demarco Alexander had 22 points, seven rebounds and three steals to lead the Spartans past the Longhorns.
Kamakana Winquist posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Cimarron, which outscored Legacy 20-11 in the fourth quarter.
D’Eric Marlowe scored 16 points to lead Legacy, and Quentin Brewster added 11 points for the Longhorns.
Centennial 76, Shadow Ridge 68 — At Shadow Ridge, Troy Brown scored 39 points as the Bulldogs rallied in the fourth quarter to down the Mustangs.
Isaiah Banks added 14 points for Centennial, which outscored the Mustangs 23-11 in the fourth quarter.
James Fuller scored 21 points to lead the Mustangs.
Isaiah Williams scored 15 points, Garin McFarlane had 12 points, and Bricin Ford scored 11 for the Mustangs.
Foothill 84, Green Valley 63 — At Foothill, Marvin Coleman supplied 27 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists to help the Falcons to a win over the Gators.
Mauricio Smith scored 16 points for Foothill, which made 19 of 23 free throws. Dylan Hushaw had 13 points, and Jace Roquemore added 12 points for the Falcons.
Eric Johnson scored 14 points, and teammate Cameron Bower had 10 points to lead Green Valley.
Faith Lutheran 81, Arbor View 53 — At Faith Lutheran, Elijah Kothe had 20 points to help the Crusaders top the Aggies.
Jaylen Fox added 14 points, and Brevin Walter and Nic Maccioni each scored 13 for Faith Lutheran.
The Crusaders trailed 16-11 after one quarter, but outscored Arbor View 47-21 in the middle quarters to take control.
Jarrod Burks had 13 points, and Commillion Smith scored 12 to lead the Aggies.
Western 47, Mojave 37 — At Mojave, Kwan Carter scored 28 points to lead the Warriors past the Rattlers.
Anthony Dodson added 10 points for Western, which outscored Mojave 12-5 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Noah Achong scored 10 points to lead the Rattlers.
Sunrise Mountain 65, Pahrump Valley 44 — At Sunrise Mountain, Steven Adeyemi scored 15 points to lead the Miners past the Trojans.
Damani Wilkes scored 13 points, and Daltyn Pytrysson added eight points and 12 rebounds for Sunrise Mountain, which used a 19-5 third-quarter run to take control of the game.
Nick Clark scored 12 points for Pahrump Valley, and teammate Bryce Odegard added 10 points.
Adelson School 59, Mountain View 51 — At Mountain View, Brandon Pappas and Miles Hagan each scored 12 points to help the Lions defeat the Saints.
Jalen Pitts added nine points for Adelson School, which led 28-21 at halftime.
Tyrell Brooks notched 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead Mountain View, and Terrence Brooks had 14 points for the Saints.
Agassi Prep 71, Coral Academy 61 — At Agassi Prep, Akeemis Williams made seven 3-pointers and finished with 26 points to lead the Stars past the Falcons.
Najeeb Muhammad had 17 points, and Allen Merritt added 15 points for Agassi Prep, which led 32-26 at halftime.
Zhaccai Smith had 15 rebounds, and Jared Holmes pulled down 10 boards for the Stars.
Ryan Djino led Coral Academy with 18 points. Adam Abdalla had 17 points, and Isaiah Spears scored 13 for the Falcons.
Innovations International 64, SLAM Academy 48 — At Innovations International, Eugene Stewart scored 19 points to power the Ambassadors by the Bulls.
Derec Anderson had 12 points, and Jordan Allison supplied 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for Innovations International, which got seven points and 13 rebounds from Justin Evans.
London Coleman scored 23 points to lead SLAM Academy.
