BOYS BASKETBALL: Cropper, Burke lead Green Valley past Desert Pines
Troy Cropper had 25 points, and Brandon Burke added 24 points on Wednesday to help Green Valley’s boys basketball team to an 83-74 home win over Desert Pines.
Christopher Miller added 15 points, and Tyrell Crosby scored 11 for the Gators.
Desert Pines’ Re’meake Keith led all scorers with 32 points. Nate Grimes had 17 points, and Kevin Buttler scored 13 for the Jaguars.
Las Vegas 95, Cimarron-Memorial 56 — At Las Vegas, Re’Kwon Smith poured in 43 points to power the Wildcats past the Spartans.
Patrick Savoy scored 16 points, and Tyler Bey added 14 points for Las Vegas, which led 23-17 after one quarter and took control with a 32-8 second-quarter outburst. Amani Gill had 16 points, and Cameron McKissic scored 13 for Cimarron, which also got 10 points from Austin Garrison.
Valley 75, Eldorado 57 — At Eldorado, Gerard Harden led five double-figure scorers with 17 points as the Vikings shut down the Sundevils.
Cameron Burton added 15 points, and Brendan Orphan scored 13 points for Valley, which got 11 points from Nick Brannon and 10 points from Taveon Jackson.
Jayveon Brown led Eldorado with 25 points.
Desert Oasis 58, Chaparral 40 — At Chaparral, Kodi Leslie scored 14 points to spark the Diamondbacks to victory over the Cowboys.
Rodrick Moore and Jay Esguerra racked up 10 points apiece for Desert Oasis, which jumped out to a 30-13 haltime lead.
Marc Silas had 13 points, and Tyree McNeal scored 11 points to lead Chaparral.
Mojave 77, Rancho 51 — At Mojave, Melvin Irvey had 16 points, and the Rattlers used a 20-4 first-quarter run to down the Rams.
Darryl Adams had 14 points, and Malik Abbott and Jordan Glenn each scored 10 for Mojave.
Lamont Traylor had 14 points, and David McKeever added 10 points for Rancho.
Sierra Vista 77, Bonanza 42 — At Bonanza, Mikko Balmes and Dominique Marcy each had 18 points as the Mountain Lions routed the Bengals.
DeAndre Hicks led Bonanza with 10 points.
Word of Life 53, Sandy Valley 50 — Elijah Hoye scored 21 points as the Eagles held on to beat the Sidewinders.
Edoziem Okafor added 16 points for Word of Life, which held a 31-19 halftime lead.
Lane Eastham scored 14 points for the Sidewinders, who nearly came back with a 21-13 fourth-quarter run.
