BOYS BASKETBALL: Daniels, Valley hold off Canyon Springs
Darrion Daniels had 19 points, and Valley’s boys basketball team made 25 of 31 free throws to hold off host Canyon Springs, 71-68 on Monday.
Cameron Burton added 18 points for the Vikings, who outscored Canyon Springs 27-22 in the fourth quarter.
Nick Brannon added 14 points, and Shea Garland scored 10 for Valley, which led 29-18 at the half.
D’Quan Crockett had 26 points to lead Canyon Springs, which outscored the Vikings 28-15 in the third quarter and led by five at one point in the fourth.
Jordan Davis added 15 points, and teammate Channel Banks scored 12 for the Pioneers.
Mojave 37, Faith Lutheran 30 — At Mojave, Daryl Adams had 12 points and seven assists as the Rattlers handed the Crusaders their first Sunset League loss.
Mojave jumped out to an 11-4 lead after one quarter.
Jordan Glenn added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Rattlers. Malik Abbott added eight rebounds for Mojave.
Bryce Neagle and Zach Friel each scored eight points for Faith Lutheran.
Eldorado 49, Rancho 45 — At Eldorado, Carl Crayon scored 10 points to help the Sundevils edge the Rams.
Eldorado outscored Rancho 20-9 in the fourth quarter to gain the win.
Rancho’s Lamont Traylor led all scorers with 15 points.
Liberty 66, Silverado 62 — At Liberty, sophomore Logan Koch scored 23 points — including 14 in the fourth quarter — as the Patriots rallied to down the Skyhawks.
Ed O’Bannon added 11 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Patriots, who outscored Silverado 27-8 in the fourth quarter and clinched a playoff berth.
Michael Larson and Tyric Johnson each scored 13 points to lead Silverado. Jireh Johnson scored 12, and Kris Coe and Matthew Arnold scored 10 points each for the Skyhawks.
Findlay Prep 82, Las Vegas 66 — At Las Vegas, Allonzo Trier scored 24 points to lead the Pilots past the Wildcats.
P.J. Washington had 18 points, and Derryck Thornton scored 14 for Findlay.
Patrick Savoy led Las Vegas with 31 points, and teammate Devon Colley added 14 points.
Bonanza 80, Cimarron-Memorial 67 — At Cimarron, Jamal Logan poured in 31 points to lead the Bengals past the Spartans.
DaVonta Price added 19 points, and Davian Jordan scored 14 for Bonanza.
Jaron Ponder led Cimarron with 19 points, and teammate Terrell Walker added 11 points.
Green Valley 75, Basic 46 — At Basic, Xavier Jarvis had 19 points, and the Gators raced to a 43-18 halftime lead en route to a win over the Wolves.
Kris Nicholas added 16 points, and teammate Romello Jones scored 11 for Green Valley.
Basic’s Josh Villaros had 14 points, and Robert Sutton scored 11 for the Wolves.
Centennial 60, Arbor View 41 — At Arbor View, Isaiah Banks and Garett Scheer each scored 13 points to help the Bulldogs top the Aggies.
Troy Brown added 12 points, and Darrian Traylor scored 11 for Centennial.
Trent Hunt had 12 points to lead the Aggies.
Lake Mead 61, Adelson School 47 — At Lake Mead, Dylan Graham had 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to lead the Eagles by the Lions.
Shay Rutledge added 13 points and eight rebounds, and Brendon LeBaron had 10 points for Lake Mead.
Jake Buchman led Adelson with 22 points.
