BOYS BASKETBALL: Kamakana Winquist hits 3-pointer at buzzer to lift Cimarron over Cheyenne

Kamakana Winquist drained a 3-pointer from the right corner at the buzzer to lift Cimarron-Memorial’s boys basketball team to a 65-62 road win over Cheyenne on Tuesday.

Demarco Alexander led all scorers with 28 points for the Spartans.

Winquist, Brian Washington and Keiron Hatchett each had 10 points for Cimarron, which used a 23-13 fourth-quarter run to take control.

Kavon Williams had 24 points, and Dewayne Alexander scored 17 to pace Cheyenne.

Calvary Chapel 73, Mountain View 62 — At Mountain View, Elijah Martinez scored 18 of his 42 points in the first quarter, and the Lions used a strong third quarter to rally by the Saints.

Martinez also finished with five 3-pointers.

Alec Neider added 20 points for Calvary Chapel, which used a 19-7 third-quarter run to overcome a 37-36 halftime deficit.

Terrence Brooks led Mountain View with 26 points, and brother Tyrell Brooks scored 25.

Silverado 69, Eldorado 55 — At Silverado, Devin Ross had 30 points and 14 rebounds to lift the Skyhawks over the Sundevils.

Caden Farley and Martell Williams each scored 10 points for Silverado, which trailed 36-30 at halftime.

Jordan Carter had 13 points, and Markaule Pace scored 12 for Eldorado.

Chaparral 48, Western 46 — At Western, Jonathan Tendale scored 14 points as the Cowboys held off the Warriors.

Samuel Porras added 12 points, and Ronnie Hicks scored nine for Chaparral, which led 30-29 after three quarters.

Kwan Carter led Western with 20 points, and teammate Jesus Rojo scored 15.

Canyon Springs 69, Faith Lutheran 58 — At Faith Lutheran, Kevin Legardy led all scorers with 28 points as the Pioneers took down the Crusaders.

Elbert Bibbs scored 15 for the Pioneers, who made all five of their free throws. Christopher Hawkins added 12 points, and Joseph Haulcy had 10 for Canyon Springs.

Jaylen Fox led the Crusaders with 21 points, and Elijah Kothe supplied 17 points.

Legacy 62, Mojave 48 — At Legacy, Chris White had 13 points, and Tyrell Nolen scored 11 to help the Longhorns top the Rattlers.

D’Eric Marlowe added eight points for Legacy, which trailed 30-28 at halftime.

Jonathan Rodriguez had 12 points, and Noah Achong scored 11 for Mojave.

Bonanza 56, Boulder City 47 — At Boulder City, Chase Hafen scored 21 points to lead the Bengals past the Eagles.

Brandon Noone added 10 points for Bonanza, who outscored the Eagles 20-12 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Karson Bailey and Clayton Pendleton scored 13 points apiece for Boulder City.

Basic 90, Sunrise Mountain 66 — At Sunrise Mountain, Geoff Faries hit seven 3-pointers and scored 25 points to lead the Wolves past the Miners.

Frank Harris added 12 points, and Cris Dominguez scored 10 for the Wolves.

Tyree Harris led Sunrise Mountain with 20 points. Steven Adeyemi added 17 points, and Trevor White scored 12 for the Miners.

Green Valley 67, Rancho 28 — At Green Valley, Eric Johnson and Matthew Tuttle each scored 17 points as the Gators routed the Rams.

Canyon Lewis added 12 points and 15 rebounds for Green Valley, which raced to a 43-16 halftime lead.

Chrys Jackson led Rancho with seven points.

Durango 53, Pahrump Valley 18 — At Durango, Juwan Rohan scored 10 points to lead the Trailblazers past the Trojans.

Jovan Lubara and LeAndre McIntyre each added eight points for the Trailblazers, who outscored Pahrump Valley 22-7 in the first quarter.

Antonio Fortin had five points to lead the Trojans.

Coral Academy 94, Innovations International 70 — At Impact Academy, Isaiah Spears and Adam Abdalla scored 23 points apiece, and Isaac Spears added 21 points as the Falcons routed the Dragons.

Zachary Hammer had 19 points for Coral Academy.

Agassi Prep 71, Lake Mead 55 — At Lake Mead, Najeeb Muhammad scored a game-high 21 points as the Stars defeated the Eagles.

Akeemis Williams added 14 points, and Daniel Plummer scored 13 for Agassi Prep, which pulled away with a 24-point third quarter.

Shay Rutledge and Ryan Kennedy each scored 13 for Lake Mead, and Mitch Dolinar added 10 points.

Pahranagat Valley 47, Moapa Valley 44 — At Overton, Culen Highbe scored 19 points to lead the Panthers over the Pirates.

Cody Williams and Richard Lewis each added 10 points for the Panthers, who took a 33-26 lead into the fourth quarter.

Trey Jones led all scorers with 22 points for Moapa Valley.

Needles 64, Laughlin 48 — At Needles, California, Frankie Garcia scored 10 points to lead a balanced scoring attack as the Mustangs downed the Cougars.

Marcus Mills had nine points, and teammate Dillon Darrow notched six points, five assists and five steals for Needles.

Jermarion Hickman scored 22 points, and Corey Anderson added 16 points to lead Laughlin.

Adelson School 65, Lincoln County 43 — At Panaca, Jake Buchman finished with 26 points and 15 assists to guide the Lions to an easy win over the Lynx.

Ben Elharrar added 10 points and Miles Hagan pulled down 10 rebounds for Adelson School, which outscored Lincoln County 42-20 over the middle quarters.

Kobe Walker led the Lynx with 18 points.

Word of Life 81, Somerset-Sky Pointe 41 — At Somerset Sky-Pointe, Ivan Candolesas led all scorers with 23 points as the Eagles cruised past the Eagles.

Jared House had 18 points, and Isaac Lopez added 11 points for Word of Life.

Joshua Brooks led Somerset-Sky Pointe with 22 points.

Sandy Valley 47, Baker (Calif.) 44 — At Sandy Valley, Wyatt Robinson poured in 31 points, and the Sidewinders rallied in the fourth quarter to win the first game in their new gymnasium.

Kobey Lang added eight points for Sandy Valley.

The Sidewinders outscored Baker 17-3 in the fourth quarter.
