BOYS BASKETBALL: Keelan Wickersham’s 25 points propel Spring Valley past Bonanza

Keelan Wickersham poured in a game-high 25 points, and Spring Valley’s boys basketball team rallied to turn back visiting Bonanza 74-67 on Tuesday.

Joseph Johnson and Ryan Frazier added 13 points each for the Grizzlies, who trailed 48-47 at halftime but outscored Bonanza 13-5 in the decisive third quarter.

Brandon Noone had 22 points to lead Bonanza. Steven Reese tallied 16 points, and Devin Hansbrough added 10 for the Bengals.

Clark 71, Durango 60 — At Clark, the Chargers opened the game on a 22-5 run en route to the win over the Trailblazers.

Trey Woodbury scored 12 of his game-high 26 points in the third quarter for Clark. James Bridges added 21 points for the Chargers, including eight in the first quarter.

Ian Alexander added 11 points for Clark, which led 33-18 at the half.

Nicquel Blake led Durango with 16 points. Zyare Ruffin added 14 points, and teammate Jeremie Portuondo scored 10 for the Trailbalzers.

Foothill 63, Chaparral 57 — At Chaparral, Mauricio Smith had a team-high 20 points, and the Falcons overcame a slow start to beat the Cowboys.

Jace Roquemore had seven of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to help Foothill pull away.

Marvin Coleman added 12 points for the Falcons, who trailed 16-11 after the first quarter but owned a 35-34 lead heading into the fourth.

Samuel Porras provided 20 points off the bench to lead Chaparral. Marcus Hilliard and Jonathan Tendale each had nine points for the Cowboys.

Western 71, Rancho 65 — At Rancho, Kwan Carter scored 22 points as the Warriors topped the Rams.

Jesus Rojo had 15 points, Terrence Love added 14 points, and Anthony Dodson scored 12 for Western, which led 52-44 after three quarters.

Chrys Jackson had 26 points, and teammate Dayshawn Robinson scored 18 to pace Rancho.

Green Valley 67, Tech 64 — At Green Valley, Canyon Lewis scored 19 points as the Gators edged the Roadrunners.

Green Valley’s Steven Fojas had 16 points, including two made free throws with 18 seconds remaining for the game’s final margin. Eric Johnson added 13 points for the Gators.

Tech’s Gary Johnson scored 23, and teammate Miguel Pena had 20 points for the Roadrunners.

Liberty 61, Valley 31 — At Liberty, Julian Strawther scored 12 points to lead the Patriots past the Vikings.

Cameron Burist added seven points for Liberty, which outscored Valley 37-14 in the second half.

Bryce Jones led Valley with six points.

Virgin Valley 58, Sunrise Mountain 46 — At Mesquite, Andrew Memmot scored 19 points as the Bulldogs dispatched the Miners.

Hogan Fowles added 11 points for Virgin Valley, which sank nine 3-pointers.

Steven Adeyemi led all scorers with 22 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Adelson School 57, The Meadows 32 — At The Meadows, Niv Shahmoon and Jake Buchman each scored 11 points to help guide the Lions to victory over the Mustangs.

Ben Elharrar added 10 points for Adelson School, which outscored the Mustangs 35-11 in the middle quarters.

Jake Epstein and Asheesh Chopra each had nine points to lead The Meadows.

Needles 49, Lake Mead 45 — At Lake Mead, the Mustangs forced 12 fourth-quarter turnovers to beat the Eagles.

Trey Tsosie scored 17 points, and teammate Frankie Garcia had 10 points to lead Needles, which led 35-34 after three quarters.

Joshua Thorell led Lake Mead with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Shay Rutledge scored 13 for the Eagles.

Innovations International 74, Somerset-Sky Pointe 40 — At Innovations, Justin Evans had 22 points and eight rebounds, and Derec Anderson scored 16 points as the Ambassadors ran past the Eagles.

Jordan Allison had 12 points and five assists for Innovations, which bolted to a 44-15 halftime lead.

Brenden Sanford led Somerset-Sky Pointe with nine points.

Sandy Valley 55, Baker (Calif.) 51 — At Baker, California, Wyatt Robinson finished with 27 points, and the Sidewinders held off the Braves.

Joshua Harmon added 15 points for Sandy Valley.

Max Robledo led Baker with 41 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, six steals and two blocked shots.

HB Academy (New Zealand) 96, Coral Academy 80 — At Coral Academy, Ryan Djino had 25 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Falcons fell to HB Academy.

Isaac Spears and Isaiah Spears each scored 22 points for Coral Academy.
