BOYS BASKETBALL: Lawson, Dragons down Fullerton
Rashaun Lawson had 20 points and 12 rebounds Friday to lead Del Sol’s boys basketball team to a 74-61 win over Fullerton (Calif.) in the Estancia/Tustin Classic in Costa Mesa, Calif.
Brian Greer added 19 points, and Eduardo Romero scored 14 for the Dragons, who rallied from a 35-30 halftime deficit.
Dave Tsuda led Fullerton with 18 points.
Bishop Gorman 82, Beaverton (Ore.) 57 — At Portland, Ore., Stephen Zimmerman had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Gaels blew by the Beavers in the Les Schwab Invitational.
Chase Jeter scored 17 points for Gorman, and teammate Noah Robotham added 16 points and six assists.
Nick Blair scored 10 points for the Gaels, who led 41-21 at the half.
Connor Brands led Beaverton with 13 points, and Sam Parker added 12 points.
Canyon Springs 86, Cleveland (Wash.) 59 — At Seattle, Jordan Davis scored 24 points, and the Pioneers used a 46-23 burst in the middle quarters to down Cleveland in the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions.
Gerad Davis added 18 points, and Shaquile Carr had 12 points for Canyon Springs, which got 11 points from Chris Nelson.
Jalin Bird led Cleveland with 15 points.
Foothill 68, Colton (Calif.) 17 — At San Diego, Colin Curi had 12 points as the Falcons easily handled the Yellowjackets in the Maxpreps Holiday Classic.
Jalen Shepard added 10 points for Foothill, which led 37-8 at halftime.
Jason Taylor and David Perez scored five points apiece for Colton.
Martin Luther King (Pa.) 63, Green Valley 55 — At San Diego, the Cougars downed the Gators in the Maxpreps Holiday Classic.
Tyrell Crosby had 15 points and 19 rebounds to pace Green Valley. Kris Nicholas scored 11 points, and Jason Hill added 10 points and nine assists for the Gators.
Elsinore (Calif.) 57, Boulder City 33 — At Menifee, Calif., Reynaldo Solorzano had 15 points as the Tigers dominated the Eagles in the Paloma Valley Winter Shootout.
Preston Beverly had 14 points, and Dylan Dickerson scored 10 for Elsinore, which led 39-15 at halftime.
Boulder City’s Xavier Steel scored seven points.
Lincoln County 55, White Pine 52 — At Panaca, McClain O’Connor hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left to lift the Lynx over the Bobcats.
O’Connor finished with 20 points to lead Lincoln County, which also got 13 points from Derek Shumway and 12 points from Mike Wood.
White Pine’s Nick Johnson led all scorers with 21 points.
