BOYS BASKETBALL: McKeever, Rams top Jaguars on the road
David McKeever had 20 points on Thursday to lead Rancho’s boys basketball team to a 54-52 road victory over Desert Pines.
Kenneth Smith added 12 points for Rancho, which trailed 37-36 after three quarters.
Trevon Abdullah led Desert Pines with 19 points. Coby Myles scored 15 for the Jaguars.
Sunrise Mountain 52, Western 51 — At Western, Damon Heard scored 22 points, and Jeffrey Eromonsele nailed a late 3-pointer as the Miners edged the Warriors.
Trellis Quinn added 13 points for Sunrise Mountain.
Kwan Carter had 16 points for Western, and John Swayzer scored 11 for the Warriors.
Desert Oasis 63, Eldorado 50 — At Eldorado, Drevin Cannon had 20 points to power the Diamondbacks past the Sundevils.
Aamondae Coleman added 16 points for Desert Oasis.
Carl Crayon and Shane Barnes each had 13 points for Eldorado, which got 10 points from Carmonte Jones.
Basic 59, Tech 46 — At Basic, Jared Meacham had 18 points as the Wolves downed the Roadrunners.
Robert Sutton added 13 points, and Kerry Keyes supplied seven points and six steals for Basic, which used a 23-9 second-quarter run to pull away.
Paul Galang scored 13 points to lead Tech.
Green Valley 69, Del Sol 63 — At Del Sol, Romello Jones scored 12 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter to help the Gators hold off the Dragons.
Kelvin Omojola added 12 points for Green Valley, which led 51-48 after three quarters.
JonRoss Juhas led Del Sol with 17 points. Brian Greer added 14 points, and Jonathan Spearman, Noah Spearman and Rashaun Lawson each scored 10 for the Dragons.
Las Vegas 62, Lincoln (Colo.) 50 — At Las Vegas, Tyler Bey scored 10 of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter to help the Wildcats rally for the win.
Lincoln led 33-24 at the half, but Las Vegas outscored the Lancers 20-6 in the third quarter to take control.
Devon Colley had five of his 17 points in the third quarter for the Wildcats.
Jose Arenas led Lincoln with 14 points.
Bonanza 63, Shadow Ridge 52 — At Shadow Ridge, Jamal Logan scored 21 points to help the Bengals top the Mustangs.
DaVonta Price added 15 points for Bonanza, which jumped out to a 32-15 halftime lead.
Jerell Springer had 19 points to lead Shadow Ridge, which got 10 points and 11 rebounds from Brett Meci.
Coronado 66, Silverado 33 — At Silverado, Nick Kornieck had 23 points to help the Cougars rout the Skyhawks.
Jake DesJardins added 14 points for Coronado.
Michael Larson and Matthew Arnold each scored eight for Silverado.
Bishop Gorman 64, Reed 32 — At Reno, Chase Jeter had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Gaels by the Raiders in the Wild West Shootout.
Nick Blair added 10 points, and Stephen Zimmerman had nine points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots for Gorman, which used a 22-5 third-quarter run to put the game away.
Alec Leighton led Reed with 11 points.
Valley 68, Cimarron-Memorial 25 — At Valley, Cameron Burton had 19 points as the Vikings rolled past the Spartans.
Darrion Daniels had 13 points and 10 assists for Valley, which led 27-5 after the first quarter.
Joe Tito paced Cimarron with six points.
Canyon Springs 70, Arbor View 29 — At Canyon Springs, Jordan Davis scored 22 points as the Pioneers blasted the Aggies.
The Pioneers started the game on a 28-2 run and never looked back, shooting 89 percent from the floor.
D’Quan Crockett scored 14 points for the Pioneers, and teammate Maurice Hunt added 13 points.
Trent Hunt and Jesse Vogel each had seven points for Arbor View.
Cherry Creek (Colo.) 71, Durango 52 — At Durango, Hayden Parr scored 16 points, and the Bruins made 11 3-pointers to top the Trailblazers.
Apollo Corley led Durango with 19 points, and teammate Victor Ross scored 10.
Needles 61, Chino Valley (Ariz.) 22 — At Williams, Ariz., Cody Tobler had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the Mustangs to the victory in the Williams Holiday Tournament.
Trenton Poe-Evans added 15 points, three assists and four steals, and Victor Ochoa scored 14 points for Needles.
The Mustangs led 17-4 after one quarter and 36-10 at the half.
Beatty 60, Trona (Calif.) 29 — At Beatty, Nikolas Zamora scored 18 points to lead the Hornets by the Tornadoes.
Wyatt Henry added 15 points and six rebounds, and Luis Flores dished out nine assists for Beatty, which led 41-16 at halftime.
Trona’s Tyler Boutte scored 12 points.
Lake Mead 25, Moapa Valley 24 — At Lake Mead, Shay Rutledge had nine points, and the Eagles held the Pirates scoreless in the fourth quarter to earn an opening-round win in the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.
Jay Mortensen scored seven points for Moapa Valley, which led 24-18 after three quarters.
Boulder City 66, Adelson School 46 — At Lake Mead, Tyler Newby and Zach Murphy each scored 11 points to lead the Eagles by the Lions in the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.
Quentin Turner added 10 points for Boulder City, which used a 25-8 second quarter to pull away.
Rom Izkovich and Jake Buchman each had 14 points to lead Adelson.
The Meadows 73, Fernley 56 — At Lake Mead, Jake Epstein led all scorers with 30 points to help the Mustangs down the Vaqueros in the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.
Epstein scored 19 of his 30 points in the team’s 31-4 third quarter.
Max Hisatake had 15 points, Ethan Fridman added 14 points and Asheesh Chopra scored 10 for the Mustangs.
Fernley’s Dominic Ceresola had 25 points.
Calvary Chapel 54, Word of Life 45 — At Calvary Chapel, Matthew Harney scored 25 points to lead the Lions by the Eagles.
Killian Diers added 16 points for Calvary Chapel.
Malik Moore had 19 points, and Elijah Hoye scored 15 for Word of Life.
